Planting New Bulbs

Will you be planting new builds soon?

What type will you be planting?

Transferring bulbs from one garden to another, Alliums, Daff’s, and Snowdrops mostly.

I plant Hyacinth Bulbs late October early November, I have a tub either side of the back door. I over winter Bagonia tubers in the greenhouse and start to lift them around the same time.

No bulbs, cyclamen and primrose plants .

I won’t be planting any new “builds” :grinning: at all. I’ll wait until October/November and then plant daffs, tulips, and crocuses in the same planters so we have a succession of flowers.

I’m not sure what I’m planting this year, so will post a pic of them when I eventually decide.

There are lots of pansies and cyclamen in Tesco’s I noticed yesterday.

I have planted several over the past few years. Some have not flowered the first year. But others have produced amazing flowers within months of being planted.

Never heard of Bee Bombs, I have planters and window box’s that I have hanging on the side of my porch, attached to a trellis, I’m trying to think what spring bulbs I could fill them with, any ideas?

I always go for begonias, petunias, and daisy types. You can also get them in the hanging varity. I’ll pop out the back and get you a photo of my 2 baskets that are hanging in the tree and you’ll see what I mean.

They are past their best now but they were lovely a few weeks ago.

They look lovely, Rox, I like how you’ve hung the basket in the tree, gives it character.

I was going to hang them on the feeder, either side of the wee basket, but these were too heavy and would have broken the feeder stand. I only feed the birds in the winter so I thought it would make a nice plant stand in the summer.
