Planes Bikes and Automobiles

looks fair to middleton

Cost £180.00 to buy Max, might get a Grand or so when I sell.

Waiting for the new tank fairing panel to arrive, compared to the cost of the Chinese Pit Bike parts which were cheap as chips, the parts for the Chinese Skyjet are the same as the Japs (Honda Suzuki etc), will have to make the white decals from scratch, good job they are a simple design.
The damaged panel

The perfect panel (other side)

I made the new graphics and refitted all the plastics back to the bike

I connected the new battery and checked all the electrics but, the right hand headlight wasn’t working so I had to strip them again, long and short of it, the headlamp was damaged inside, this is the old unit, I am waiting for the new one to arrive.

Goin to build another powered mountain bike, this time ain’t bothered about the wattage of the hub motor, but the battery capacity, lets try and get fifty miles out of one charge at a max speed of 20mph

Just bought one of these for cleaning the Moho etc
The podium platform not the geezer

Just gotta get me a High Viz and a Hard Hat :icon_wink:

and a pair of bovver boots

Just bought a mid range quality mountain bike frame to build the low power super range leccy bike, made sense just to buy the frame because a few bits have to be replaced anyway, got to fight the instinct to fit a hub motor greater than a 500-1000 watts, looking for a range of 50 miles @ 10-15 mph, no pedaling allowed.

Picked the frame up from Wolverhampton, its more than just a frame, it is a complete bike minus the wheels, it cost £45.00 so I checked the price of a used example of a complete bike and they averaged £400.00. I have bought a complete original front wheel (With tyre, brake disc and skewer etc) for £40.00, but, couldn’t resist the lure of the 2kw hub motor but, offset this with a 25AH battery which, if I only use the motor on low power should give a considerable range.
I intend to keep my eyes open for the original back wheel and make sure I do not make any permanent alterations to the frame so, in the future, the bike (back as standard) can be sold for the current market value

carefull keeping an eye on the back wheel does the other keep an eye on the front

The world has gone crazy, just bought the new soft top for the Beamer and thought it would be nice to freshen the paint work up, it has the usual chips and scratches that a car accumulates but, does not need any reparative bodywork. I watch a lot of youtube car repair programs like Salvage Rebuilds who, regularly send a car out for a complete repaint which typically costs about £2000.00 to £2500.00, also, I went on the BMW Z3 chat site and a lot of owners had had resprays for around £2000.00, it is a small sports car with no roof. Today I phoned a local resto company and said, I have this vehicle , all the body panels unbolt, if I unbolted it all, and bought the panels to you for painting on a panel by panel basis, meaning no masking up, no bending down doing sills etc etc, how much would the job be, I was quoted £10,000.00, they’re having a giraffe, I could by a super low mileage, near concourse condition car for that!! Time for an alternative quote.

Meet the Saracen replacement, the Carrera, note the controller still on the floor, waiting for two special narrow jubilee clips to arrive to secure it, this is the largest capacity battery I have ever fitted on a pushbike, should manage 40+ miles on a charge, test ride planned for Christmas Day

Seriously nice! :+1:

Its a great quality base bike Chilli, the only thing is I had no choice but to drill the frame to mount the battery carrier, at the moment, it seems there is no need to upgrade the brakes etc as is the norm on cheaper base bikes but, time will tell

What’s it going to weigh with the battery Spitty?

The bike was very light to start with but, the battery is 7.5 kgs and the hub motor 5.5 kgs so, can still be pedaled manually but wouldn’t really want to

That’s not too bad at all.
I was thinking more about slinging it on your shoulder and carrying it, albeit short distances…

I usually flip the bikes vertically onto the back wheel for kissing gates and the like, in general. there is usually alternative routes around obstructions
