People change too. One of Croydon’s Conservative councillors, started her political life as an active member of the IRA. Her book To Take Arms: A Year In The Provisional IRA under the name Maria McGuire is well worth looking out & reading. As a Tory Councillor for Croydon she was known as Maria Gatland & had responsibility for education.
