About four, Oysters, snails, what’s ‘Jello?’ perhaps eggplant if it’s slimy, and grits?

Why not Gaia? Was a good topic, you’ve got potential…

Yes,interesting fun thread.Take no notice of Mr Grumpy.
I’m learning to be a vegetarian so wouldn’t eat a lot of it except sprouts of course.

Aw, don’t get sore, please start more threads, this was a good ‘un :two_hearts:

I was surprised to find my score was only eight (basically all the vegetables except peas) and I have no idea what grits are but didn’t count them.

Don’t let them get to you, they’re British, xenophobia is hard wired, you just have to ignore it, feel sorry for the poor things, they can’t help it.

English if you don’t mind  I’ve been wondering about grits for decades they feature in the old song Sloop John B, check out the lyrics.

It would seem that grits are a kind of corn porridge, the poor cook probably did the right thing, fits or not . My score has now gone up to eight :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes I’d noticed that too summer, maybe it’s just become a bit old fashioned.

Poor old Bertie, I just hope they don’t reinvent him in an attempt to make him more relevant to modern times, the mind boggles

I apologise if my rant against American memes, such as the food list, offended you. I was expressing my frustration at the number of such memes that use US words and also US thinking (e.g. the only offal in the list was liver). Facebook is dominated by them. Please do not be put off posting just because I ranted at the list (not at you). Maybe there are Brazilian delicacies that Europeans would hesitate to eat?
And, of course, I liked your opening post because I also replied with my own preferences !

Don’t worry. I get that a lot too. So provincial. Some people seem to think that the world begins and ends at their country’s border.

As to the OP, I’ve tried everything on the list except snails. I’d try that if it was available. I’m a vegan but I’d happily eat everything on the list* except black licorice. Red licorice is yum but not black licorice.

*I’d probably be sick later but taste wise, I’d be ok.

Me too

I remember the days when we’d buy these, the trick was to pinch the centre between finger and thumb and chomp away at the end of the tape, what delicious unraveling!

You could get away with it when you were a kid, over eighteen and it’d just look crass and slobby
