Petrol Chainsaws

My Stihl MS170 chain saw would not start no matter what I did, so today decided to do an ignition strip down and examination. This time using a proper feeler guage for the ignition air gap and for the spark plug.
first examinination showed after removing the coil module unit the face needed cleaning as it messed up the air gap. Replaced correctly with the right measured air gap. Next was the spark plug setting that gap.
Have to say the handbook was not at all helpfull in this respect more about how to use than anything else.
next was to replace the cover and give the pull cord a few tugs to clear the carb. Ok spark plug back in and fill with correct petrol 2 stroke oil mix and it started.
So saved a bit of money DIY against sending it away to be back working.
