Perth has a suburb called Cockburn - pronounced Coburn

The ABC news reader became a little flustered when she said it as written - Cock Burn :grinning:

Never drank Port

Please explain?

Cockburn is one of many fortified wine makers in Porto who do not have Portuguese names. In fact they have distinctly English names - Cockburn, Graham, Taylor, Dow.
Next issue - what about cognac makers? Hennessey, Martell, Hind? Seems kind of Irish?
Last question - how do you pronounce these Scottish towns:
Strathaven
Strachan
Milngavie
