Love these easy recipes… and worth watching Mr Hollywood anytime…reminds me of someone, can’t think who :grinning:

Rolfe?

Love the apple pie filling - well cooked cooking apples mixed with chopped eating apples. I’m defo going to try this in my next apple pie!

I was always taught at school to grease the tin for cakes, but to flour it for pastry - I was surprised to see he greases the tins. But hey, it’s Paul Hollywood, I’m not about to argue with him!!

Yes it’s a good idea to put 2 different apples in, because sometimes the cookers go into mush.
I always grease my tins for pastry and cakes. Think that the flouring is for something else but I can’t remember. :slightly_smiling_face:

Well we were defo taught to flour for pastry and for scones. And I can honestly say my pastry never, ever sticks to the tin!

That’s fine then, I know scones don’t have to grease the tin.

Another good one…but no butter cream? You’ve got to have butter cream surely?

As he said don’t have butter cream or cream in a Victoria Sandwich.
But thanks.

He said in the North they have buttercream…that explains it for me there would have ro be buttercream in a Victoria sandwich
