Over 50's Wales Club

Good evening everybody. Much nicer day here after yesterday which was cold and wet.

Well a lot has happened since I last posted…my younger son who lives in Jo’burg, had a massive heart attack …his bro who was skiing in France got a taxi to Geneva (Ā£350) then a plane to Jo’burg via Jeddah (Ā£400)…taxi driver very happy I imagine! My d-I-l flew out Thurs. He’s recovering after having 2 stents fitted side by side in the same artery and being called the miracle man by his consultant…luckily my son is very fit which helped…he’s still in ICU but has been up and hoping to go to a general ward soon. He’s been watching the rugby and the guy in the next bed is the SA rugby player who’s got MND and is critical…

Heavens Nimby, that must have been a nasty shock for you - and the rest of the family. Hope your son is well on the way to recovery by now.

Took the family out to lunch today. Jamie’s 12th birthday on Tuesday and it’s turning into a four-day event. His Mum and Dad took him and a few friends to Laser Quest in Merthyr yesterday, while Chris and I went to see ā€œSingā€ in the cinema in Hereford.

Think I may have a chilblain on my big toe - anyone know what’s good for chilblains? Don’t think I’ve ever had one before.

OMG Nimby , what a shock for you all. Hope everything goes well xxx
No idea about chilblains Sue . Haven’t heard of anyone having them for years
You will have to Google them lol
Cold ,windy and now wet yuk
Been busy with the hoover and the TV for me now xx

Discovered on closer examination that I have an infection under my toe nail - ugh! Now on antibiotics.

Cold and wet here today, sitting with foot in bucket of hot salty water has its attractions!

Nimby hope your son is well on the road to recovery. Sue sorry to hear that you have an infection on your toe. Jac I’ll get the hoover out tomorrow. Well done to your team yesterday.

Neil has had an MRI and all clear…no damage at all…now out of ICU and on a general ward. BIG relief !!!

Good news Nimby xxx
Quite nice today after that rain yesterday and I’m out for a pub-lunch later xxx

What a relief for you Nimby.
Out and about early this morning, now in for the rest of the day.
Son no 1 coming back from Rome today, son no2 flying to Seattle today-it’s one in,one out of the country!

Nimby great news about your son. Jac we must have your rain today its poured nonstop here. Rhosyn my friend wants some of us to go to Rome in a few months.

So glad your son has had the all clear Nimby.

Toe still looks grotty but doesn’t hurt, thank goodness. Took it to stand on the Sports Field at the secondary school to watch hundreds of primary school children running their cross country! Chris was 26th in his group - not too bad when you think there must have been more than 40 running!

Jamie’s 12th birthday today, so we had sandwiches, birthday chocolate cake and present when we came home. Also time for the yearly measurement against the door jamb in the kitchen. Both he and Chris have grown almost two inches in a year! Don’t know what their Mum is feeding them on…

Happy to say that son is now home…onward and upward!!!

That’s good news Nimby xx
Sunny start here but overcast and cold now
Not doing much xxx

Nimby glad to hear that your son is home. Really cold wind here today and I was visiting my friend in hospital.

Glad your son is now home Nimby.
Had a lovely afternoon with my girls yesterday. The baby is doing well,it’s so nice to cwtch a little one again.

Chilly one here
I had to go out to Bank and Chemist and called into a friend with her b/day present for tomorrow . Another friend was there so we enjoyed a good chin-wag
Lovely to have a baby cwtch Rhosyn , you cant beat it xxx

Evening Ladies. Well it seems to have been about the coldest night of the year here in South Wales.

I’ve forgotten who was the name of that lady who used to run the SAGA dining club to which some of us here belonged some years ago. I haven’t seen her here for a while - is she still with us - was it rouser?

I expect you will completely ignore this as you have done everything else I have posted here in recent years. I mostly use another select and private site but I am also all on my own with no local family since my mother’s death last June. Her Care Home on Port Talbot seafront was very good and I miss them but am glad to still have my Church and the Community that goes with that.

Woke up this morning to a slight layer of snow and it’s still snowing.Cooking a family lunch tomorrow so out shopping early, hope the snow stops.
Good luck in the rugby today our boys.
Bob lwc bois.

Grey and flipping cold here so a day in catching up with TV recordings for me
Have a good one xxx

Good afternoon everybody. Had family down last night and we went for a walk before they went home. Really cold and windy here and I’ll have to go out again to the shops.
