Over 50's Wales Club

Just back from a morning meeting and greeting in the Cathedral in Brecon. Arrived to find the (large) offertery box in the middle of the aisle blocked off and broken glass everywhere. Policeman arrived hot on my heels. Turned out someone had broken in during the night and taken a crowbar to the glass sides (luckily made of toughened glass so they didn’t completely shatter). The thief didn’t achieve much and was performing right in front of one of the security cameras, so the police were fairly sure they knew who it was! Certainly passed the time quickly what with police and the local paper arriving and all the visitors wanting to know what had happened!

Arrived home to a phone call telling me my email account has been hacked - so ignore any strange messages from me sent in the middle of the night. I’ve now changed my password so hope all is OK.

Good evening everybody. Been raining most of the day here went to Tesco for a few things then M&S for some foodstuff.

I didn’t know meeting and greeting could be so exciting, Sue. Weather doesn’t seem to be making up it’s mind. A nurse regular today and a new health care assistant. Ex-Army. I keep wanting to stand to attention and salute  Can leave base today so off to walk dogs and I may venture for an exciting hour to Sainsburys.

Celyn enjoy your trip to Sainsbury. Staying home today and getting out in the garden to tidy up.

a bit of drama Sue , hope they catch him.
Weather here cant make its mind up either. Going out for lunch so will leave it until last minute to decide what to wear .

Better day here, all washing dry and in the airing cupboard. Chicken in the oven for tea. Enjoy your outing Celyn, bet the dogs will.

Hello, remember me from some years ago? - I just happened to be cruising this place for something to do and saw this thread was still going and thought I would just tell you that I am still alive.

I am recovering from a major bereavement and have been doing the things that have to be done and will start on my practical problems with the 2 houses at my own pace. People correctly tell me take it slowly and you don’t have to do everything all at once. My Church and the friends there have been very supportive.

I see rowser seldom posts here now?

Anyway best wishes from Philip for now.

Cloudy this morning.Hairdresser coming at 9.30,then food shopping. Going to watch Wimbeldon this afternoon.Looking forward to the Wales semi-final tonight.Still don’t understand the soccer game but know when to shout!Son no 2 is in Mexico City working, son no1 in Birmingham working so they are planning to go to the final at he weekend(fingers crossed)
Pob lwc Cymru.

Morning all. Wearing my (only) red shirt for Wales today. It has got a helicopter on the front, but hey! I support the Air Ambulance as well as the Welsh team. (I don’t understand the soccer either Rhosyn, but very happy to support them).

Off to do a little shopping this morning and take Rob out.

I understand Footie better than Rugby :frowning: I was a Cardiff City supporter in my youth, although I now prefer Rugby.

Looks as if we have a few days of good weather coming up, fingers crossed.

Care rota all over the palce today, due to sickness. We are covered but a bit messy. If they spoil my TV viewing I could paly hell. You heard it here first

Good morning everybody. Housework and some gardening for me today. Good luck to Wales tonight.

Hope it goes ok for you Celyn xx
Its the first time in my life I’ve taken any interest in footie ,quite enjoy it .
Lovely sunshine here so I think I’ll just chill and enjoy

Right well I see that you are ignoring me again!

Some years ago I was invited to join a small group on one of the SAGA sites whose members continue as some of the members of this thread. I attended a number of enjoyable Lunches in our local area. Then I was suddenly ordered to leave the group after a Lunch in Cardiff in 2012 when one of the organisers decided I had had too much to drink though it was nothing very much.

I have tried to restore good relations with you a number of times since but without success. I have occasionally looked with interest at this thread and note that you had a Lunch at Memos on the Port Talbot seafront. You did not know that I was visiting my Mum in a Care Home a few hundred yards down the seafront and within sight.

I think my difficulties with your group stem from the fact that you invited me into your group and then it seems didn’t like what you had got and wanted rid of me which made me feel hurt!!?

Now I no longer have my mother that bears more on my mind?

Sorry Phillip don’t know what you’re on about!

rhosyn ( Rose in Welsh ) - no you wouldn’t know what I was on about if you were not part of that group. After SAGAZone closed they seem to have wandered around various web hosts before settling on this site a few years ago. It was a local thing as well - Swansea and SW Wales which made it more difficult but I have never met them outside of events. I’m in Gower.

Ah well our boys did well to get this far in Euro 16.Still proud of Cymru fach. That’s watching soccer done for me(until next time)
Rainy morning.Going to youngest grandson’s school fete this afternoon looks like it’ll be in the school hall.

Morning all. A grey day here atm and it’s just starting to rain. Going to meet Roses and Anthea for lunch later, after collecting meds and laundry.

DIL’s birthday today and for once I’m ready, card written and present bought - though not yet wrapped.

Its a grey and damp one here as well
Pity about the footie but the boys did well to get there
Not doing much

Next big footie tournament everyone will be watch out for Wales. Cloudy/sun here and not unpleasant, although rain on its way.

Thought Andy Murray was going to make an exit too, fortunately he fights on to play another day.

Don’t know what it is about Andy Murray. He’s a super tennis player but I just can’t take to him! Think he’s what you might call a dour Scot!! Now that young Canadian gentleman - whohoo - eye candy or what??
