Over 50's Wales Club

Nice day ,Laura is coming down to clean my windows inside and out and I.m defrosting my small freezer.
Had a letter from the Consultant who I was under when I went into hospital in Feb . They said I had severe anaemia and wanted me to have Colonoscopy and gastroscopy . I said no cos I wasnt up to it . He wants me to have a check blood test because the anaemia could have a SINiSTER cause . OMG
I’ll have the blood test but still not happy to have tests even though he said he could try something else . I thought folk were having probs getting treatment ??
Take care xxx

Sounds like he can’t wait to see you again Jac!

Have just changed my bed and am in a heap now. Back to sewing - but must remember to meet grandson from the bus today.

I’ve had a bad time over the last few days.My first (and only) cousin died very suddenly on Monday night. He suddenly stopped breathing and they couldn’t revive him.Last time I saw him when he and his wife visited me from Derbyshire about 3yrs ago.We were very close and spend a lot of time together as children. It’s been such a shock.
My great granddaughter had a planed operation on Tuesday to adjust her shunt but things didn’t go to plan, the op took longer than they thought.Luckily she’s bounced back like the little trooper she is and came home last night.Hope to see her tomorrow.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Rhosyn. Must have been such a shock to have your cousin go like that. Your little g.granddaughter is such a star isn’t she? To bounce back after an op like that is quite something.

Strange day here, sunshine at the back of the house, freezing in the front room - last night I went to bed with my bed socks on! and can see me doing the same thing again tonight.

Cloudy and a bit chilly this morning.
Still trying to come to terms from my cousin’s sudden death.
Saw g.granddaughter on Friday-her balance wasn’t brilliant but she was her usual cheeky lovely self.
Felt sorry for Wales team loosing yesterday. Will take my dragon bunting down later and put it back up for the rugby 6 nations.

Out on a road trip today with youngest son to see granddaughter riding at Sapey Horse Trials (near Bromyard) Enjoyed it but found walking really difficult in extremely long grass! It also got really chilly in the early afternoon when the wind got up, so we headed for home when she’d finished her show jumping round, didm’t wait for the cross-country.

I’m sitting here in a jumper and body warmer - and I’m not a bit too hot. This is supposed to be mid-summer. So much for global warming - or perhaps I’m getting nesh in my old age (good Radnorshire word that, it means you’re feeling the cold though you shouldn’t be!)

Just catching up with all your news xxxxSorry for your troubles
I.ve not anything to report except I still feel lousy and fed up with the footie .I did watch Wales but they weren,t much good
Take care xxx

Been feeling poorly since Saturday evening. My g.grandson kindly shared his cold with me. When I get a cold it goes to my chest and coughing tires me out.Managed to see GP yesterday afternoon-in The Red Zone because I had a cough. There are crackles on my right lung.On antibiotics for a week and had to go for a covid test, even tho’ doc said it was a chest infection. Will have the result within 72 hours.
Sorry my post is woeful!

Covid test-negative.Had 4 emails and 2 text messages to inform me-making sure that I know!

Oh Rhosyn, thank goodness that test was negative. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Seems to be a few people going down with nasty colds atm - the manager of the care co. that we use caught something from her small daughter and has been off work for a fortnight.

We had a visitation from the OT this morning to weigh Rob. Much to our surprise he’d actually lost about a pound (the weigh in is in kilos and means nothing to me!). He starts a new regime on a lower calorific fluid tomorrow and we’re hoping he’ll lose a bit more. I’ve had to buy larger size trousers recently - not good.

July already!
Feeling a bit better today, the elephant that’s been on my chest has now lost some weight so finding it easier to breathe and cough is not so harsh.
Taking it easy again today-hope to go shopping tomorrow.
Enjoying watching the tennis.

Glad you’re feeling better Rhosyn. Had a quick trip to Hay to shop this morning. It’s market day but I only went to the Co-op supermarker. Much to my surprise it was nearly empty. Expect everyone was up town at the market.

I’m bobbing between the Tour de France and the tennis. Enjoyed Djokovic match yesterday

Did you catch heavy storms yesterday? We only had a few spots, not really enough to wet the patio, but a friend was walking from the farm about half a mile away and she was drowned by the time she got home. Says her boots will take weeks to dry!

Dismal out this morning.
Manged to do my shopping yesterday although I felt washed out afterwards.
Feeling better again today, not coughing so much.Last antibiotic tomorrow.
Taking it easy today, watching tennis again but NOT the football later!

Treated myself to a crossstitch kit and got stuck into that this morning. Have I bitten off more than I can chew? It’s a map of Wales with various places illustrated. Forgot all about the Wales/Canada match until a quarter of an hour before the end. Poor old Leigh Halfpenny, hope he’s not too badly injured.

Haven’t seen anything of the Tour de France either so hope to catch up with that this evening.

Tea will be biscuits and cheese - I have some Camembert leaping out of the fridge at me…

Another dank morning-where’s the Summer?
Son no1’s birthday today-how the years have flown since I first met him. He’s calling in for a bacon sandwich 10ish so I’ll stick a candle in it.He’ll be glad I wont be singing because of my coughing!
I did feel sorry for Leigh yesterday-poor dab he was in agony.
No tennis today, few good matches on yesterday.

Have been sat stitching nearly all day! Well, nothing else to do, apart from getting the recycling boxes ready and doing some washing. Didn’t put that out on the line even though it was lovely this morning. However we had a heavy downpour about 11.30 am and it has been raining off and on every since.

Very sad day today. My cousin’s funeral is at 2o’clock in Derbyshire. His wife emailed the order of service to me this morning, needless to say I was in flood of tears. He was a big Welsh rugby fan and the national anthem from the 2013 game against England will be played. Also Gwahoddiad and Calon Lan.

Have an appointment at 1.30 in the audiology department of the local hospital.Rang them yesterday to find out how long the test takes-about an hour.
Bit of sunshine this morning, washing out on line for a change.

Just seen the end of the Sharks v Lions game. So many smiley faces.

I haven’t been to the Audiology Dept in Brecon Hospital but they have been a great help sending me batteries for my hearing aid. Hope you get on well Rhosyn.

Went out to dinner last night to celebrate DIL’s birthday. It was delicious but unfortunately she suddenly (and it was sudden) felt sick just as we finished, so that was a bit unfortunate. She’s fine today!

Luckily had a dry walk earlier now pouring down.
Looking forward to the men’s tennis final this afternoon, hope it’s a good one.
There is one thing I won’t be watching on tv tonight. Come on Italy!
Watched some programme the other day about South Wales, had the subtitles on and the word Gowa came up-they were going round Gower!
