Over 50's Wales Club

Lovely sunshine here but the breeze is chilly
Hope your daughter(and you) are feeling better Celyn
Not doing much today

Bit overcast here . Been out for GP apt so that’s my excitement for the day lol
All he could suggest is keep on with the meds and try self-help on-line . Feel a bit negative about these sites but will have to try I suppose

Daughter doing really well. Rather uncomfortable and bruised although much better today than yesterday. I had a doctors appointment this morning. I was an hour out and missed it!! He rang me later and said that’s very unlike you. I’m losing it I think.

glad yer daughters doing ok celyn, now get yerself off to the docs:-)

Not surprised you missed app Celyn with all you’ve got going on in your life
don’t forget the next one !!!
Waiting for shopping delivery
running late

He sorted me out in telephone conversation, doctor/nimby. Well sort of sorted me. I’m going to be texted when next one due.

So glad your daughter is on the mend Celyn, it will be one less thing for you to worry about xxx

Glad to hear your daughter is on an upward curve Celyn - hope you told her we’re all rooting for her. What a lovely Doc you must have - and as Jac says you’ve every reason to be an hour out!

Went to U3A this morning when the talk was on Kilvert Country. A lovely film presentation with an actor speaking Kilvert’s words (some of them) but the guy was only there to sell his book!! I was a bit cheeky and took the copy I already had and asked him to sign it. He did, but wasn’t very graceful about it!

Jamie and his Mum have gone to Llandovery - he’s playing rugby for the South Powys team this evening so Chris is with me again. We may go up on the hill later on as we’re having a bonfire to celebrate Mrs. Queen’s birthday. Let’s hope the rain holds off.

He’s great our GP. He promised to see Michael through his illness, and he is taking that job seriously. I remember him as a baby doctor when he was a junior GP in the practice. Now he’s the senior GP. When I was a lecturer he was the GP for the college. He always sees the humourous side of things, so you come away feeling much better.

Really p[leased with daughter. Sher can’t understand why people are sending her flowers for having an operation! We still have a few bridges to cross, results and further treatment. It’s all looking good though. She’s lucky that her sister in law is a surgeon and specialises in breast cancer. So having first class advice.

Now a member of U3A. The coming lecturers don’t look very intersting. The one I just missed was about the Gurkhas. We have many living in this area and that I would have enjoyed. My postman was a Ghurka. I think he still thinks he is the way he runs around the village delivering post. Lovely people.

Glad you’ve joined U3A Celyn, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. We have lots of Gurkhas here too, I assume because they’ve been attached to the South Wales Borderers or are they the Royal Regiment of Wales now? The barracks is in Brecon and they train on the Beacons. There’s a wonderful museum in the barracks with lots of mementoes from Rorke’s Drift. The boys loved it when I took them. Must go again soon.

Off to do some shopping this morning with a friend from the village (saving fuel) and she’s cut me some greenery for decorating the Church this evening. We have a service on Sunday which includes a christening. Won’t be able to decorate tomorrow as I’m off to the Royal Welsh to shake a bucket for the Air Ambulance. “Wonderwool Wales” is on there. I’ve never been before. Better not take my purse or I might be tempted

Glad your daughter’s doing okay-Celyn.
Appointment with vet at 11 this morning.Noticed my dog is getting a bit deaf, want to check if his ears are dirty or if the deafness is due to his age. He’s 13 in August.

Overcast and looks like rain here
A beacon was light near the castle last night and there was a Piper playing on the ramparts . I didn’t go , too much hassle with parking
They are going ahead with a M&S food hall on the site of the British Legion club with an underground car park . Cant imagine the chaos that will make

Our Gurkhas are all from Aldershot which is the traditional home in the UK. They are really loyal people to the British, and brilliant soldiers. I have seen film of them training on the Brecon Beacons.

What a change, cold, wet and miserable.

Went to visit daughter. She’s looking well because I suppose the surgery wasn’t too invasive. In some discomfort but sleeping seems to be a problem, even though she is feeling very tired.

OK, which of you is running in the Marathon on Sunday?

You must be joking! Don’t think my knees would let me run to the other side of my yard

Glorious morning here and I’m off shortly to do my bit for the AA at the Royal Welsh Showground. The event is called “Wonderwool Wales” (Google it!) so I don’t think I’d better take any money

Enjoy your day Sue , hope the weather there is as nice as here
Just put a bit of washing out , no plans for the rest of the day

Sunny morning, washing out on the line. No plans today, going to watch the London marathon on and off-like to see the fun and the celebs running.

Nice and sunny here as well .Sea is like a mill-pond—lovely
I’ve changed the bed and sheets out so thats my activity for the day

Just caught a glimpse of Shane Williams running in the marathon,at least it looked like him!

I think it may have been rhosyn. He was supposed to have been joining a group from here on a charity bike ride to somehwere on the Continent, but backed out. They probably clashed.

Very windy here, a cold wind, although sun shinning. Very deceptive.

Raining again this morning.Been shopping this morning no further plans today.
