Over 50's Club Scotland

Hi Morty, I’m still here. Jess is away for a wee break and I think Dex said something about heading off as well. Our storm warning is for starting Saturday, I hope it’s not too bad I hate these strong winds, I can hardly stand upright in them.

Ah @Rox and @Besoeker , grumpy old scotmans  … good to see you’re still around.
I’d be scared to death up Scotland. I hate storms.

Hi Rox. I went to Berlin for a few days and got back Tuesday.
Today’s the first day I got my sorry derrière into motion in terms of shopping and housework, which is kinda what I’ve got lined up for tomorrow as well.

Sorry about my complete lack of pleasantry this evening, but …

Scotland’d be scared to death if you went up there.

Anyway, that’s enough cruel cockney humour. Back to wooing you.:kissing_smiling_eyes::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Well I lived in Scotland in the hills on a farm and yes, we had storms. The worst one was in 1963 and we had our own snowplough to clear the road. The last of the snow didn’t clear until April.

Winters do seem to be a lot milder now … snow I like as long as someone else has it dumped on them.
Must have been catastrophic for a farmer though .

Since when have you being a cockney? And stop trying to weevil your way back into my good books. :broken_heart:

Well, I heard Dick Van Dyke sing on Mary Poppins.
Doesn’t that count?

:musical_note: Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey
Chim chim cher-ee!
A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be
Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey
Chim chim cher-oo!
Good luck will rub off when I shakes 'ands with you

Or blow me a kiss and that’s lucky too :notes::notes:

Yes, indeed it was. We spent a lot of time digging sheep out of the drifts. And yes, the winters milder now. As I recall the last snow we have had was around 16 years ago…
