Over 50's Club Scotland

Good morning Each,a dry but grey cloudy one here…I’m feeling back to normal after 8 hours sleep last night…My day doesn’t run smoothly with less,

Some of the Neighbours have gone OTT with Their outside xmas dec’s…jeeze!..I’m not bothering this Year as I binned My tree & Dec’s last Year cos I didn’t expect to still be alive n kicking this Year and I’m not buying new ones :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Have a bolognese sauce cooking on the stove and I’ll have it with spaghetti & garlic bread for lunch…Plenty of it if any of the Clan pop in later.

Have a good Sunday All,xx

Cor … you’re worse than me.

I could do with a new pair of boots but thought nah … I’ll walk this pair into the ground this winter … next winter is a new chapter or not of my life.
In that jolly note it’s time for jaffa cakes and a hot choccy drink.

Good morning Folks,a very wet and windy one here, got soaked just bringing the bins in,

Had a look in a couple of other social sites in the past week or so,and sad to say they are all anything but sociable…no ‘feel good factor’ anywhere…So after doing a big grocery shop online, and sending in the meter readings,I’m giving the laptop a rest for a while…Keep warm and well Everyone and I’ll see You all around sometime.xxx

Morning just. Got home from our wee trip to Largs, where the rain couldn’t have come down any harder. Had the best fish and chips have had in ages down there. Will now have to get some food shopping in and get some cards for friends.

Good morning, raining here this morning. Hairdressers later and then some more food shopping, also get a few more presents while I’m out.

Good Evening All, May I also had a scout other Sites before I went into hospital and like you I also found discontent and petty rows everywhere, AND, guess what… Most were ex members from here, some people never change, argue argue argue.
Still too tired to be any good to anyone, Dunc is hauling me back to the Doc Monday.

Not too bad here … certainly not too cold for December.
I’m just wondering whether to get some mistletoe and chase Mr M for a kiss or two. :pig: The exercise will do him good.

Hope you get some decent rest Rox. Don’t forget that you’ve not been well for some time, and your recovery is thus not only from the op.

You’re safe here. No major unpleasantness. What a nice change.

Afternoon, It never really got light today despite being dry this morning, pitch black again now though. Roll on the 21st and we go toward the light again, always so glad when this date is past, it’s more of a new year to me than January 1st.
Hope you enjoyed being again home again Jess it looks such a lovely wee place, it would have broken my heart to leave the ocean, pity about the rain though.

I’m counting down to the shortest day too … reminds me spring is over the horizon somewhere.
This winter does seem to be especially dismal and dark.

It does. I suspect the random but short lived heatwaves have emphasized the difference between the dark and the light. Which is what Beethoven tried to do in his later sonatas. But I digress.

You do indeed … did he live in Scotland then?

Nope. IIRC, Mendelssohn (who was alive around the same time as Beethoven) did pop over to Scotland, and ended up composing Fingal’s Cave.

We are way off topic now. It’s your fault :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I never knew that and no, we’re not off topic. Not really.

Fingal’s Cave is an amazing place. Got a photo of me there from a few years ago. Before my health went nuts. Will try and find it.

Mendelssohn also wrote the well known wedding March.

Evening, Another dark day here really getting sick of this, not even bothered to get dressed today.
Both of us have been hanging about the house, Dunc saw to the horses and sheep early on but can’t do anything else thanks to the weather. He’s out at the stables just now giving the Clydes their supper and hay bags and closing them in for the night.
God, I’m soooooo bloody bored. I hate Winter with a vengeance

You ever tried those SAD lights? Supposed to help counter the effect of long winter nights a bit. I recall that they use them at the poles when it’s dark for months on end which can lead to fatigue and depression for some people.
