Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Good evening all. May your summerhouse sounds very comfy. I like the idea and it would take up some space where I wouldn’t need to weed. I’m still unsure that I would use it. Will keep mulling it over. The size is about the same as I was looking at. I’m trying not to go looking for snacks and comfort food. My waistbands won’t take any more strain & I’m not planning on renewing my wardrobe. The exercise hasn’t started yet. There’s always something I need to do first thing and couldn’t settle into it later in the day. Needs must, I need a strong talking to! Jess, hope you enjoy your travels. I haven’t really thought about going any where at the moment. I do have airline travel vouchers (long story) from a trip cancelled earlier this year and have had another airline refund for a flight cancellation. I usually go away (in Scotland these days) for New Year but will just wait and see what transpires. May, I recall another name from the past ‘scottish cat lady’ I think it was. Not sure if my memory is correct.
Enjoy your weekend.

Good Morning Each, dry here at the moment so I really should be out cutting the grass, but My lawnmower gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago so I got out the old faithful flymow…jeeze…it gave up halfway through too…so I’ve managed to screw up 2 mowers within a couple of weeks…thinking of getting a cordless now…why does stuff like this not last more than a few years…or is it just Me

Aye SCL (Susan) had a terminal illness and went to live in the USA with Relatives a few years back,a lovely Lady,

Have a good Sunday Folks and keep safe & well.xx

Morning All, I remember SCL, I used to chat with her from time to time. I wonder how things turned out for her and if she’s still there.
Started off beautiful first thing but clouding over fast now. Just hope I get the washing dry. May, I used to be like that with lawn mowers and in the end I bit the bullet and bought the heavy duty Qualcast, the one with the big roller on it. It’s been great and the roller puts lovely stripes into the lawn.
Will be outside yanking blooming weeds this afternoon…again. If grass is dry enough I might just run the mower over the lawns too.

Looks good Roxy…I really need a mower that’s light & easy for obvious reasons as I want to be able to cut the grass Myself for as long as I’m able…fancy the Spear & Jackson cordless lawnmower which has a 3 yr warranty…that’ll take Me up until I’m 80,lol,after that…who knows…OA’s getting a real grip on the auld joints now…may have to depend on Son/Sil or pay Someone to do it for Me then :-(…but won’t dwell on it…just glad I’m still able to do it now

Good evening all. I thought that I recalled SCL was ill but wasn’t sure. I don’t have any grass now as I had most of the garden chipped and paved in places. I have some borders but mainly a largish rockery and front raised bed. It’s still needing a lot of my time working in it, weeding & cutting shrubs. Lockdown has given me time to do this but I’d rather do other things!. Turned out lovely today with only a couple of light showers. Take care all.

Good Morning Each, wet wet wet here so a day at Home, housework & cleaning windows inside,

I hope Jessie hasn’t gone to Spain for Her break as She’d need to quarantine for 2 weeks on return

Morning, dry at the moment but that won’t last, not too bothered as I caught up with things yesterday. I don’t go abroad the thought of all that performance in airports put me off before the virus, now it will be much worse…So No Thankyou.
There’s a lot of places in the UK that I’d like to visit so that’ll do for me, but not untill this virus is gone.

Good afternoon all. Likewise it started off dry & bright here, which it is again, and then we had quite heavy rain from 11 onwards. Hope this is it drying up now for tomorrow. Roxy, I started to visit areas in Scotland that I had never visited or hadn’t been to for years. The Islands appealed so I have been to quite a few over the past three or four years and plan to visit a few more. The islands have such a different way of life I think. More relaxed in some ways but quite hard in others. I do still go abroad, mainly Europe in recent years. I can’t really be bothered with long haul any more, but who knows what the future will bring. I’m not in any hurry to rush off somewhere just for the sake of it. What an ‘entitled’ society we seem to have developed into. People who are ‘desperate’ to go on holiday abroad. Holidays when I was young were a week/ 2 weeks in Burntisland, Leven, Arbroath, and then we graduated to Aberdeen. We always went as a family, parents, brothers & sisters, and when we had our own families we holidayed together with our parents, husbands and children. My children were at school before I persuaded my husband we should holiday ‘down south’. He didn’t have anything against crossing the border (he had spent some time there with an aunt during school holidays) it was just that he liked our ‘famiy’ holiday. Changed days. Enjoy your evening & take.

Beki, I come from the Isles, Mull, just outside Tobermory. We moved over to the Mainland when I was still quite wee but I remember it well. We lived in Perth after that.
We used to go up to Caithness on holiday and I simply loved it. After my marriage ended I was heading to Caithness a lot, even for a W/E. It became my go to place where the ocean and the quiet would relax and refresh me. Now I spend most of my time there at my partner’s farm, still return to Perth several times a year to see friends and family.

Good Morning Folks, still cloudy and grey here but haven’t ventured out for My walk this morning, waiting on a cordless lawnmower being delivered later, won’t be able to use it until the grass dries out …maybe Thursday/Friday,

I haven’t been abroad for about 6/7 yrs and I have no intentions of doing so again, prefer to spend My cash here in Bonny Scotland as there’s so many places I haven’t seen up North, went abroad twice a year on holidays for many many years, now I’m staying put, can’t be arsed with all the rigmarole at Airports etc’,and if I’m gonna catch the dreaded lurgy I’d prefer to be at Home,

See Ye A’ later…stay safe Everyone.xx

Morning, Showery and windy here today. Just jobs around the house for the day as I’ve walked the dog and been to Tesco.
I see those Toxic Tory Scunners are trying to put the boot in once again, :018: and are now complaining that “The BBC” should not be showing the FMs “Virus Updates”…WTH? :107: They spend a lot more time going on about Independence than the SNP. :019: :019: :019:

What a lovely Lady…Not. :019: :019: :019:

Lol,…jealousy I guess  A bit like a couple of eejits on here who mention Scottish Independence on the politics threads every chance They get, lol…it’s an obsession with Them for some reason :-p

Aye Ruthy is still after the PMs job…She sees Herself as another maggie thatcher

Apart from the oil I don’t understand why they hold onto Scotland so tightly. :102:

AND I don’t understand why the Scots put up with it. :017:

Probably because most of The Scots who are against independence are Presbyterians and say any change would be a ‘provocation of God’…go figure :017:

Good evening all. I’ve visited Mull & Tobermory a few times Roxy. I haven’t stayed there though. I also visited Iona & Staffa a few years ago, staying in Oban. I think I would like a few days in Iona but it was good just to visit at last. I have never been on Skye so that’s on my list. I haven’t been in Shetland for years but intend to visit again, I revisited Orkney in recent years and really enjoyed seeing it again. I toured the Western Isles from Barra up to Stornoway about 5 years ago. I just love our Islands and there are quite a few more to see. May, I’m in no hurry to go anywhere for the time being. Great drying weather this morning. The sheets were flying off the line. I’m looking forward to the next few days of heat & sunshine. Might get that fence painting finished. Take care.

Afternoon All, it’s a very grey sort of day here and as usual when it’s like this, my head is sore as hell. Not done a lot today except walk the dog and call in at the shop. Lazy afternoon for me.
Enjoy your day folks.

Today’s bit of jiggery pokery in the Tory World.

Afternoon Each, aye dullish here too but mild…
.I’ve spent most of the morning assembling the lawnmower,…jeeze…even fitting the grassbox was a puzzle and it’s a lot heavier than My last one :-(…I’ve just cut the back & side grass and the garden bin is fill to overflowing…didn’t realise grass had grown so long in just 2 weeks…I miss My old flymow as I could whizz around the garden in jigtime with it…but I must say I got a good workout with this cordless one…I’m jiggered so the front lawn can wait until tomorrow,coffee/cream crackers/cheese & feet up for an hour…have a good one Folks and stay safe,xx

Oh ffs…I’ve seen it all now
