I hope you don’t mind a ‘southerner’ peeking in at this thread?
May – that’s making me feel very hungry now, delicious breakfast and not one I very often indulge in due to health reasons. No black pudding though May, not something you like? I’ve have and have had Scottish friends who reckon it’s delicious, it’s something I like too. On checking this out as to origination I found this (link below) which surprised me, I always believed black pudding was Scottish in origination:
Hi Baz,nice to see You popping in here,a rare treat for Us Scots Lassies …I occasionally have a ‘full Scottish breakfast’ at weekends including black pudding which I cook in the air fryer to make it a bit healthier, don’t really care where it originated cos I just luv it,mostly have porridge in the morning but felt like a wee change…living dangerously
Morning (just) All, not too bad up here today, no frost but still kinda waterlogged in the fields, Himself is NOT a happy wee farmer.
Staying about the house today, just not in the mood for anything, didn’t even go for my swim first thing.
I can’t remember the last time I had the full fry up…heart attack on a plate, but I do cook it sometimes on a Sunday if Himself fancies it…….shudder.
That’s a nice welcome for a rare ‘southerner’, thanks. Perhaps I should take a peek in more often!
I try and avoid fried food for health reasons as mentioned, had never thought of an air fryer though, I will have to check this out.
My breakfast is always porridge, very good for getting the high cholesterol levels reduced and it’s worked a treat. Porridge with various sliced fruit is also good for my new lifestyle (diet by any other name), that’s worked too so all is good.
I wondered if you might remember me May? I used to go on another forum long ago and do the puzzles, I was doing a particular one of these asking for names of towns. You posted one I never heard of so I mentioned this and was promptly ‘told off’ in your usual style – the town was Scottish, no wonder I hadn’t heard of it!
Do You mean SZ Baz?..Aye…I did love to wind You Southern Chaps up,but I’m much more mellow now…(NOT) heh heh,:-p
I’m lucky I don’t have any heart prob’s or high BP,but I do try to lead a healthy lifestyle as I have arthritic joints and a gain of even a few LBS in weight soon tells on them.
As You can see,Men are thin on the ground in this wee Scottish Forum,so would love You and any other nice young Chaps to become regular posters…We don’t bite (well not often) anyway
That’s the one May, sadly long gone now. As long as you are now more mellow I might just venture in more often. I see you still have your typical Scottish sense of humour!
As for young, well I might have been once in the distant past but not any more. Although like most of us we still feel younger than we are, something to do with ‘having all our marbles’ but the body is slowly letting us down at times!
Good evening everybody. Its been busy on here today. I enjoy the odd fry up but not all time. I’ll have to get some porridge the next time I’m shopping. Was glad to get home tonight there was an icy cold wind blowing out there.
Well now I’m puzzled, the weatherman Sean said at 6.30pm there would no be a frost tonight, same with my weather app. sooo when I went out to the bin a few minutes ago why is there a thick layer of white on the lawns and the greenhouse all white Hmmm Hmmm. I was looking forward to not having to scrape and defrost the car first thing tomorrow when I leave for my swim.
Answers on a postcard please.
Good Morning Each, fell asleep as soon as My head hit the pillow last night,so up with the lark this morning,…It’s a damp dreich one here so I guess washing will have to be dried on the wooden horse in spare room, days like this I wish I hadn’t got rid of the tumbledryer…see Ye A’ later,xx
There you are May, your’s was the last post just as I was peeking in again. See, told you I might just peek in more often!
It’s a very frosty one here ‘down south’ but my washing has dried overnight hanging on two clothes airers in the utility room. I always do this as I don’t have a tumble drier either. In the better weather I stand those clothes airers out on the back patio to dry. The best of all this is that it’s free, something that should, so I hear, please any Scottish person.
Morning All, just back from the pool, it’s awful out there, ice all over the place and no salt down as it was to be above freezing last night. People are falling left right and centre, there’s going to be a row about this I think. I’ve dug out my ice grips to put on my boots, not heading off without them, I’m scared stiff of falling. Dunc is busy salting the slabs and the drive at the moment…thank goodness. Well have a good day now.
Good morning everybody. No frost here this morning but there is a wind blowing. Good old saga, lots of laughs and friendships. Meeting my niece and her friend later this afternoon.
Good afternoon Folks,weather hasn’t improved,it’s still yucky,
Been sitting here for around an hour writing in My memoirs and it’s amazing
the older I get,the more I remember things that happened when I was a Child,
No cooking today as I’m having yesterdays chicken soup with a crusty baguette for lunch, and I’ve defrosted some veg’ curry for dinner.
Ta for sending Me the ‘We’re moving to Scotland’ video Roxy, almost fell off My chair laughing
Hey Baz,are You insinuating We Scots are mean?..how very dare You……aye, fresh air is about the only thing that’s free, but it wouldn’t surprise Me if They find a way of taxing
Us for having a washing line in Our back gardens
Well My bum’s numb as I’ve been sitting on it too long,so
off to put My feet up and see if there’s anything worth watching on the box…see Ya,
