Soybeans. Immature soybeans that are still in the pod. Then they’re removed from the pod (although some people eat them pod and all, like snap peas) and eaten that way. I like them removed from the pod, as pictured.
I like them warmed with a little salt & pepper and they’re also great on salads.
Hi everyone—sorry ive been away so long again—my biopsy results last week showed that I have breast cancer-maybe in the milk ducts, but its treatable. May be surgery—or maybe just one oestrgen tablet a day—they are doing more tests and scans before they decide–having a bone scan this friday coming—they inject me with radioactive dye–then I go home and return in 3 hours for the scan. I have since learnt thats a standard procedure—also need a ct scan, not sure when , But I expect it soon. Chemotharapy is not an option, thankfully !!
so right now–I eat if im hungry–if im not–then i dont, still trying to be sensible–no fats or sugars–but fucussing on christmas time, and hoping that I will be ok by then. hope you are all still doing well. xxxxx
Mariana that must have been like a bomb shell ,hope you are going to be alright , and fingers crossed for you . Keep positive thats what ive learnt from reading others post who have or had Breast Cancer on here .
as far as your diet goes ive always been that way with eating when im hungry , i really dont like set meal times .
Take care now , spoil yourself with something nice.
So glad it’s treatable. Cancer is a scary thing, not to mention a scary word. When they sat us down and told my son’s dad he had colorectal cancer, I was stunned and he almost passed out. Thankfully, though, they caught it in time, but he has to wear a colostomy bag the rest of his life. However, at least he still has his life.
thanks everyone—just tough to think about going through everything on my own—just seems like everything else is going wrong–had to take my dog to the vet–need to see my dentist, although not due till January but have toothache—and just yesterday found 2 lots of water dripping in my kitchen–located source of one, but not the second–which is brown water-could be from my flat roof-just had a letter from the hospital with results of my first visit there–sounds pretty awful reading it in black and white. I confess im feeling really down right now.
Well, you know what they say… when it rains, it pours. But I always tell myself that life has a way of working itself out, one way or the other.
Keep your chin up and try and muddle through as best as you can. We’re only human, after all, and can only deal with so much at a time. Don’t try and take on everything at once, even though that’s how it always seems to hit.
Hi Susiejaegar haha it looks like it at the moment.
We made a lovely cottage pie over the weekend hubby actually asked for me to make it. Did have to do it in two dishes as we like different spices or added extras like cheese but have to say it was really lovely.
