Well the fish cakes were HORRIBLE

My own fault, I know ready made anything is going to be horrible but I was seduced by these yesterday. May as well ate a box of dust they were that dry and bland

When I make fishcakes I add chopped capers, gherkins, a hard boiled egg, tarter sauce etc to them so they are bursting with moisture and flavour

Im copying your livers and courgettes for using another day

Thatā€™s too bad about your salmon cakes. But I agree that itā€™s best to make your own. Iā€™ve bought ready-made stuff like that before too and it sure looked better than it tasted. So when it comes to salmon cakes, crab cakes, etc, I prefer to make them myself.

Today its Chicken Salad, Iā€™ve got to be good.

Well, whether or not youā€™re being good depends on the kind of chicken salad youā€™re having. Chicken salad can rack up the calories fast, depending on what itā€™s made with.

Iā€™m having creamy chicken soup with seashell pasta and veggies and a tomato sandwich.

Todays its:

Cornish Pastie and Homemade Oven Chips.

Cornish Pastie, mmmmmm. Love those things. My sonā€™s grandma is Welsh and has made them a few times. She doesnā€™t make the traditional Welsh Pasties, though, with the jam and currants and all that stuff. She prefers the Cornish style pasties. I could eat those things on a regular basis. I need to start making them myself here at home.

Today for me I had a bowl of hot wheat cereal and a piece of toast. Iā€™ve been having gut problems lately. Upset stomach and many trips to the bathroom, if you get my meaning. Iā€™ve been under a lot of stress and itā€™s wreaking havoc on my digestive system.

Big charity event last night so had house guests staying so it was 5 am before we got to bed after a serious nights drinking

So it was a full Irish at lunchtime , which was required to cure the sore heads

Now they are building up another sore head after going down the pub for the match and racing and itā€™s so muggy and sticky I cba cooking again so itā€™s chinese take out again tonight

Iā€™ve one more function this month then Iā€™m back to being good Iā€™m too old for this partying all night lol

Sounds like fun

Itā€™s been hot hot hot here as well. In the 90ā€™s and 105-107 with the heat index. However, the last 2 days have been in the 80ā€™s with lower humidity, so weā€™re getting a small break from the heat before the temps go back up again.

I hate summer :019:

I didnā€™t make the Pastie Linda, it was a bought Gengsing Cornish Pastie which consists of Meat and Potato, nice lot of pepper in it.

Today we had Gammon as a roast dinner.

Well thats the end of the partying now. Our friend got killed yesterday so Tuesday is a wake now not a party :frowning:

So I was out there tonight, a 3 mile walk in 35 mins, helps to get the excesses of the weekend off and have signed up for a 12 mile coastal hike for September in aid of Parkinsonā€™s. Well Im actually doing it for LUCAS which is an arm of Parkinsonā€™s or something like that

Back to work at 5am in the morning and back to eating sensibly

As long as itā€™s good, thatā€™s the main thing

What??? What the heck happened???

Thatā€™s terrible Missy.

William Dunlop, he was a road racer.

Got killed on the practice day of the Skerries Road race. Bike went over a speed hump and when it landed it broke the sump and spilled oil all over his back wheel

Oh my gosh. Iā€™m so very sorry to hear about that :frowning:

We all are :frowning:

A really crappy week tbh , William being killed , his uncle Joeyā€™s (deceased) head machanic fighting for his life after an accident the same day :frowning:

But thatā€™s the route they travel and no one will stop them.

So it wonā€™t be a wake , it will be a bigger party, we will celebrate their lives along with thousands who didnā€™t know him personally but loved him for what he did

This whole summer, so far, has been a disaster. And Iā€™ll be glad when itā€™s over.

Today its just Chicken Salad.

Not sure what Iā€™m having today. Taking my son car shopping. Then we have to stop and pick up milk and a few other things, so perhaps I should eat something now so Iā€™m not starving while out running around. The problem is, I just got up a little bit ago and Iā€™m not hungry yet, which is why I never (or very rarely) eat breakfast.
