I am on the porridge oats for breakfasts at the moment. According to SW I can have 40g dry weight oats. I do them in the microwave with water (high for 4mins). Add a dollop of fromage frais and a few strawberries and I have a big bowl full and I can then keep my milk allowance intact for drinks. I eat breakfast after 10.30am and lunch later on. Today lunch will be hard boiled eggs mashed with a spot of low fat mayo. on 4 crackerbread. Evening meal will be uncoloured smoked haddock - poached. Not sure what veggies yet, probably jacket potato and some greenery. Then an orange before bed. I am full of good intentions at the moment and have to take advantage of it.

Maybe I just have a morbid curiosity, but I’ve always liked watching stuff like that. I think it’s interesting and fascinating at the same time. That kind of thing has never bothered me. That and, back in the day, I took nursing for a while and we watched a lot of human anatomy videos, including the inside of the body. So maybe I’m just used to it.

Today for lunch I’m making something I’ve been craving - vegetable tempura.

Go you

Have you tried Skyr yoghurt? fat and sugar free, its really good - very cheap in Lidl

I prefer museli to plain porridge as Im not fussed on the texture of porridge

Im doing a pork stirfry tonight. Ive a huge pile of veggies that are wilting so I shall stirfry the pork with ginger, garlic, soy and a dash of sweet chilli sauce then chuck in the veg. Tasty, healthy and best of all quick and easy ( Im a lazy cook ) Will serve with boiled rice

And whilst Im at it I will make a bowl of Nigellas noodles Just noodles and veg but its the dressing that makes it. Will do the lunch boxes

Not tried Skyr yoghurt Missy as I don’t go into Lidl that often, but I am in an investigating mode at the minute. People tell me Lidl is very good for all sorts of things as I haven’t been in lately I give it a look see. Apparently the deli meat is very good. Is the Skyr yoghurt a Lidl brand? At the moment I am buying the Muller Greek style fat free yoghurts, but they never seem to be on offer.

I looked at the Nigella noodles link, but I think they may have a bit too much oil in for including in a SW allowance.

No it’s an Icelandic style of yoghurt. Naturally thick all that’s in it is milk. It’s just a lot cheaper then Tesco etc

Lidl deli meats are very good, as is everything from there tbh. As long as you don’t buy branded you will make huge savings on your shopping. Branded items are very dear in there

There’s not a lot of oil when you see how big a quantity it makes
You can make it healthier using wholemeal noodles or even rice noodles You could even add shredded chicken to a portion before eating for a more filling meal

Tonights Stir fry

Heavy on veg and flavour. low in fat, salt and sugar

That looks delicious, Missy.

Rena, that programmed was on last night at 12pm, but I have missed it, not unless my Husband taped it for me.

Today we are having:

Peppered Mackrael with cheese/onion potato bake and Mushrooms.

Im going for the easy option tonight, roast chicken dinner with roasties and roast parsnips and cauliflower cheese

But its bake day today, Nutella muffins, blueberry muffins and if I get time a millionaire shortbread. Luckily I don’t eat my own bakes, they are for the girls and guys in work

See I have this cunning plan, if I fill them up with cakes, I get to look slimmer lol

lol…

Rena, I have just watched that programme, very interesting.

I missed it as well. I’m usually in the land of nod at that time. Pity. I think I’ll try and find it on I-player (or whatever it is called).

It does make you think twice about your weight and fat.

Can’t find it on I-player.

Chicken Curry & Rice today.

Link didn’t work for me. Maybe it’s because I’m in a different country or something.

I’ve a couple of not very good steaks to use up so I’m going to cut them into strips and cook them with mushrooms and onions, make a pepper sauce, and pile them into jacket potatoes and serve with salad

It’s a good way of stretching a small amount of meat as well as being pretty healthy. Skimmed milk for the sauce and a very good non stick pan to fry off the steak. No butter in the spuds and no dressing required on the salad because of the pepper sauce

Thanks for the link susiej. but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me either. I’ll have another search.
