Strange ending. If she had reported herself to the police instead of using that convoluted tale she cooked up with her neighbour, she might have got off with manslaughter. As it turned out, premeditated murder so a life sentence. Kids lives destroyed as well.

For goodness sakes, what an ending!
Very odd ending. So those poor kids end up with a dead father and a mother in prison. And Merle, the woman who kick started the whole sorry chain of events (yeah, yeah, I know it takes two, but you know…), gets to carry on with her life.
