Orban removed from power in Hungary

Yesterday Orban admitted defeat in Hungary’s elections and Peter Magyar romped to a convincing victory. There are lots of questions about the extent to which Magyar will change things in Hungary - but its clear that the people of Hungary finally rejected Orban’s model of leadership. Trump went out of his way to praise Orban style of leadership, so that should tell you how bad Orban was. He had control of the media and courts - familiar? He centralised decision making to himself - oh, where is that also happening? He was a great friend of Putin - something else shared. He gave away state resources to friends - ok, that is much more a Putin model.
Good riddance me things and good luck to Hungary.

It’s another example (after Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, France) showing that, at least for the time being, a majority of people in various European countries don’t want a right-wing populist and/or authoritarian government. Those in power in any European country should take that as a wake-up call; there might not be many more.
