A male presenter on local radio here calls everyone “mate” male or female

‘Luv’ is sometimes heard in the mid-south of England but mostly not. Male to male can be ‘mate’ (especially with the young) but mostly, no term at all is used by either sex.

A double entendre, that doesn’t always go down well with visitors,
A slap in the chops. Not Unknown. :innocent:

When I saw the Thread Title, Paper Mate, I thought you meant one of these type of refillable ballpoint pens, of which I have a couple! Can’t seem to get the refills in the UK for some reason.

I used to have one of those, a golden color, don’t know what happened to it!

Darlin’

for boys and girls.

I used to get called Mate all the time, but now I’m clearly a doddery old git, people call me Sir. That’s nice isn’t it. We are so civilised!

@Bretrick I share my home with a female same-sex couple and both always look female to me. They stay rent free while they save up for a house deposit after being ripped off by unscrupulous landlords. They are a joy to have under my roof and feel just like family👍 It will be a sad day when they eventually have enough for a decent deposit as I’ve grown very attatched to the pair.

Have you tried Ebay? I buy Parker refills by the dozen which seem to fit most pens
