On the Level(s)

We had an errand to run in Bridgwater, then headed out from the town across the beautiful Zumerzet Levels.

Ruined church on Burrow Mump.

Tulips in a wild garden.

A Gloster Meteor garden ornament.

Westonzoyland aerodrome. The MoD simply find somewhere called Nowhere then build a base in its middle.

Disused airfield control tower.

Old lumps of airfield concrete.

Neighbouring village allotments.

Village church and “Umbrella Tree.”

The old airfield is still in use.

Up, up and away.

Glastonbury Tor.

What do you mean, you can’t see it?

Weston-super-Mud, towards Brean Down.

Towards the piers.

Part of the Weston Muriel Trail.

Why would you need allotments in a village?

Not all properties have gardens, or at least gardens big enough to grow fruit and veg. Even in rural communities there is poverty.

I gather you have not encountered ‘council housing’ which can be found in various proportions in almost every location including the so-called countryside.
