On my way to work, got flashed by a speed camera

Coming off the freeway where I had cruise control set at 80, mind wandering, failed to deactivate cruise control, got flashed at the traffic lights 500 meters down the track. 10 kmh over speed limit.
$200 fine and 2 demerits.

I borrowed my neighbours car a couple of weeks ago and missed a turning. I did a U turn and ended up on a bus lane for a few yards, I looked up to see a camera pointing straight at me. 🫵
I’m expecting to get a fine but I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m hoping no news is good news. :crossed_fingers:

Mind wandering is never good while driving. Eyes and mind on the road always.

I ran into a stationary speed trap that had been put in place just recently. I’d read about it but thought to myself that I wasn’t very likely ever to drive there anyway. But then there was a detour and I followed it and was taken entirely by surprise. I had an expensive passport photo taken for 27 quid for being caught speeding at 19 mph where only 12.4 mph were allowed. The admin guy in charge said in an interview that that speed camera proved to be “highly profitable.” Well, I like donations and make them regularly. The city needs them badly.

I got caught being stationary in a stripey box some months ago. That was 40 quid. I’d committed to entering the box but traffic was too heavy to escape out. I think I was a bit unlucky as it was new. So many don’t seem to be enforced!

I received a ÂŁ70 fine for driving on a bus lane in Western super mare,i didn`t see any signs.

Double demerits apply from midnight tonight until midnight Monday/Tuesday you have been warned. Labour Day on Monday!

Oh and don’t forget to put your clocks forward at 2am Sunday morning, daylight bloody savings has arrived again.

We had holiday last Monday. Got through the double demerits period unscathed. :slightly_smiling_face:
No daylight saving in WA.

Very sensible.

These should be illegal (in the US).

I don’t pay these types of tickets and it isn’t held against us.

I’m always wary of that one. I wouldn’t say getting in the box without an exit has never happened but these days, when the traffic is heavy, I never enter the box unless I can see a car’s length the other side of it. Maybe the drivers in the traffic behind wonder why I’ve stopped leaving a gap in the queue.

That’s what I do Mart. Always stop until the space is big enough for my motor. I don’t care if what the drivers behind think unless they want to take my fine and points…

Those weirdo Mexicans south of the border had a public holiday yesterday for their footie final (at least ours celebrates the 8 hour day gained in 1850 (ish))

The next public holiday down south is for a horse race!

Not everyone gets flashed at the traffic lights. Was it in an estate of arousal or just a Ford Escort!
