Afraid I have to agree with you there. Never quite understood exactly what flies are for. Though I’m sure now I’ve gone and put that in print, someone will enlighten me

Get a fly net. I resisted using one for decades but in my dotage when the flies are bad (they are not bad where I live) I wear a fly net over my hat.

Wasps and spiders. If either enter my house they stand a great risk of leaving feet first.

Spiders can fly quite far if you fling them hard enough 
Wasps don’t survive in my house, sorry. I wish them well on their next journey though.

What about Rats , their naked tails give me the shivers, im all for getting rid of rats

Where there are stables you will often find rats. Not here though, the dogs see to that.
