Good to hear from you Mart, glad it turned out okay. Have you got the results yet?
Or are they keeping you hanging…

The results could be in by the end of the week. I don’t know if that would be by letter or the hospital health app installed on my computer.

Thanks for the concern. This is getting to be like a diary for me. I have to go for a Cystoscopy tomorrow. I know there is a tumour in my bladder and I hope the medical man can get the instrument past it without too much discomfort (for me, not him  ). I have trouble getting a catheter in when needed but I guess the cystoscope is a bit more robust than that and can push its way through.

I’m going to mention the Nephrostomy tube as well. A change is recommended every 8 - 12 weeks. It has been 19 weeks since the last one. This is despite a couple of phone calls to the Urology Department.

@mart I know everything will pass and turn out well because you are very strong. I truly believe that.

@Besoeker It is quite normal as we get older. I have some problems too, just like you. Besides my eye problems, I also have chronic pain in my neck, shoulders and back.

Thank you, Pimmy. I saw the Doctor in the Hospital this morning and I’m going to have surgery in my eye - bit of a nuisance.

@Besoeker I’m sorry to hear that you have to go through eye surgery. I know it must feel like such a nuisance, but I’m glad you’ve already seen the doctor and it’s being taken care of. Please take it easy and rest well.:slightly_smiling_face::heart_eyes:

Have you told your GP that this is so delayed? Perhaps your GP can refer you elsewhere for the change.

The Cystoscopy has been done. The findings are two tumours in my bladder that are going to be removed on the 11th of September. It could involve a hospital stay but its initially going to be a day surgery job. The largest of the tumours is like a 4cm round ball. Not sure about the size of the other one.

In the past, the op would have been done with a stay on the ward until any bleeding clears up. That would be about a week if past experience is anything to go by. I suppose now I could be sent home with a catheter bag to keep drained. That will probably be OK. Might as well bleed at home as in a hospital bed.

Operations on the bladder always cause a lot of bleeding. Nothing to be too alarmed about for an experienced bladder bleeder like me. There will be a pre-op appointment before the time of the tumour removals.

The doctor did an intake of breath when I pointed out that the last Nephrostomy tube change was 19 weeks ago. He has booked this to be done A.S.A.P. Also need a CT scan.

There is an infection present as well. That’s about par for the course when external plumbing is involved, no matter how hygienic one tries to be. Some antibiotics have been prescribed for that. One more thing is a blood test on Thursday morning. Another is an LHRH injection for the Prostate cancer on Friday afternoon. All enough to keep me occupied for the week I reckon.

Good luck with the eye surgery Besoeker. I think ailments catch up with us all if we live long enough. Have to be really lucky not to get any of them …but still, much can be done to make a person get better these days It’s gaining access to remedies quickly enough that often seems to be the problem.

Mart, I’m glad your doctor is referring you to urgently change the bag. Sorry about the infection - I hope they get that sorted quickly. It’s the last thing you want when you’re going for an op. Perhaps it’s linked to the delay in bag change? It sounds like they have a good plan to get the lumps removed and maybe you will heal faster post-op at home, eating real instead of hospital food.
