Odeon Silver Screen for over 60s

Does anybody go to these? They’ve just restarted here

It’s on Thursday after noons, £3.50, free coffee and biscuits and they show older films but usually films from within the last 12 months

I go with my friend and we see films our husbands don’t want to. It’s a bit of fun and cheap enough, plus you get to know the regulars. If it’s a film I don’t want to see, my friend is quite happy to go on her own

Phantom of the Opera last week :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::+1:

Cannot remember the last time I went into a cinema, must be decades.

I like the cinema, maybe you should try again, it’s fun :star_struck:

The old man and I go quite often and see the new films as they come out. Always popcorn ( sorry everyone who hates eating and crunching during films!)

I cannot think of a film I want to see as they are pretty much of a muchness these days, poor storyline, silly casting, unnecessary and irrelevant sub stories just to pad a film out.
In fact I am trying to think of a film I have seen in the last year or two where I have said to myself, I enjoyed that.

I expect you’re too picky! We just see what’s going for a bit of an outing, if it’s rubbish it’s only a couple of hours lost and we got out the house and had popcorn!

I went a couple of times before lockdown.

I love the Odeon - those huge seats with footrests & tables…

Just thought of a couple of films that I enjoyed, I have no idea if they were shown at the cinema or not.

Bad Samaritan with David Tennant not an actor I particularly rate but he played an excellent part in this.
The Perfect Host with one of the guys from Frasier, David Hyde Pierce, now this was a good film as you really could not see where it was going.
Must look it out while I still have Disney + if its there.

The last film we saw at the cinema was “The King’s Speech”.

The one we go to in a nearby town is a smasher. Old Art Deco building, original stained glass window now restored and a Compton organ that rises up out of the stage :+1:
