Yorkshire is not a country. It is God’s County.
OK I was just sharing some information in response to a comment. Yes, miraculously, I do know the difference between a county and a country. My mother was born in Northamptonshire. That’s a county - in England. That’s a country…Aren’t I a clever lad!?..

The next best thing that other people can do is to become a naturalised Yorkshireperson.
You made an excellent choice, and Harrogate is one of our nicest places.

Well I’ll admit to one thing:
Scotland is bigger than Harrogate.
I didn’t know Doncaster was in Scotland
It isn’t, of course, but I bet Scotland wishes it were!
