Does anyone know if the prototype lickable TV screen that can imitate food flavours developed by Japanese professor in 2021 made it to production?

I had an inkling just lately that technology was getting silly, with electric and driverless cars, or robots moderating forums and replacing humans in factories, people on google adverts using AI to find a restaurant while on a first date, now it has removed all doubt. Who would want a telly that you could suck? By a bag of boiled sweets for heavens sake…

I recall William Shatner saying that when Star Trek came out in the 1960s, there was much discussion about possible advances in technology that may have been pre-empted in the show. The one that everyone agreed on that would never be possible was sliding doors that opened themselves when someone walked towards them.
