New here and wanted to say hello

Hi. I’m 60 and I’m from Kansas. I live alone and work FT as a housekeeper. I enjoy playing video games and watching tv. I love my coffee and my morning routine. Hoping to make some friends here.

Hi Fritz and welcome from Kansas !! I’m a grumpy old Scotsman and I have travelled a bit including Kansas. But now I’m retired at 80 and we walk with our wee dog along the The Roman Ridge.

Who is Matron?

Thank you all so much for the welcome.

Can someone tell me when we’re allowed to post without waiting for it to be approved? Not something I’m used to.

Fritz
your most welcome here but you have to use English not American spelling
Example = the word colour has a U in it not the fast track americian version.

On the hand some British is very sloppy.

Hi Fritz, I hope you enjoy Over 50s Chat

Matron comes round and tucks us up in bed, makes sure we have taken our medications, sick parade is 6am each morning, prompt

And she makes sure we self moderate, matron has had more faffing time than ever, these last few years.

Ok I’m a bit confused now about the matron thing.

And i don’t spell color with a u so not about to start LOL!

Thank you for welcoming me.

"Healthcare Matrons (NHS)

In the UK, matrons are highly experienced, senior nurses who hold significant authority, clinical responsibility, and leadership. [1, 2]"

But it is often taken as jest in hospitals - one time it was famous for films like Sid James, Hattie Jacques…British of course !!
