I have used the synonym often - innocuous
Nocuous - Likely to be harmful
Innocuous - not harmful

It’s harmful or poisonous, that’s what’s wrong with it.

That is ‘our’ modern day spelling and I can remember all the way back to school Latin where nocuus meant injurious or harmful.
