My wife's hip replacement - has to be approved, again

All the best to your wife, Steve. Thinking of you both.

Sorry Steve - being bloody minded again. The sooner relief comes for your missus - and you - the better.

I hope your wifeā€™s hip operation goes well Steve ā€¦ all the best to both of you.

I can answer some of your questions MKJ but not on this thread.

All the best to your wife stevmk2 for her forthcoming surgery and recovery.

As it seemed a bit pointless going all the way into work this morning to come back at about 10:30 Iā€™m sitting here waiting until itā€™s time to take my wife over to the hospital.

Thatā€™s @ 11:15.

Timeā€™s dragging and sheā€™s nervous about it all now.

So am I. :100: stevmk2

Good luck to both you and your wife Steveā€¦H

Yes, good luck from me too Steve, your wife will soon be on the road to recovery in time to enjoy a painlfree summerā€¦

Best wishes to your wife Steve

Just had a 'phone call from the hospital - they have a bed for my wife so that worry is gone now.

Iā€™ll be able to drop her off and go into work no problem now wonā€™t I :-)- er - no, Iā€™ll be worried sick! :090:stevmk2

Steve matey, been there, done that three times over - honestly its a doddle and if your OH, like me, has an epidural instead of full anaesthetic then sheā€™ll be sat up in bed eating her evening meal - just one little tip - make that meal a light one as the effects of the Epidural (morphine) can make one feel slightly nauseous.

She said she couldnā€™t face anything other than the full anaesthetic Joe so thatā€™s what sheā€™s having. stevmk2

Steve matey, some people donā€™t do that well in recovery from a general anaesthetic, and can vomit because of it - so once again, whatever your OH eats and drinks for the next 24 hours - warn her of that possibility and ask her not to eat too heartily for a while.

All the best to you and your wife Steve, will be thinking of her.

You will soon be wondering why your were so worried, Steve. Hereā€™s to a speedy recovery for her.

Best wishes to your wife Steve and to you. IĀ“m sure all will be well and the worrying soon over. I know quite a few people who have had hip replacements and all of them doing very well indeed. IĀ“m sure your wife will also do very well.

Sorry if I come across as a bit of pansy here but being deaf itā€™s a bit difficult for me to actually ring up the hospital so Iā€™ll have to ask someone else to do it for me, as pre-arranged.

She went in @ 14:16 today on the dot and itā€™s now 16:00 - is it too early to ask?

NHS says 60 - 90 minutes but if sheā€™s had the full anaesthesia sheā€™ll still be out I should imagine?

Difficult to judge someoneā€™s condition if theyā€™re still woozy and unable to respond I sā€™poseā€¦

Perhaps I should hang on for a bit before I call the troops.

Get on with my meal etcetera - eh - dā€™ya think? stevmk2

Anytime now - should be fine Steve, you are the Hubby afterall - give it another half hour to be sure

Iā€™ll do that Patsy - half an hour - not long is it :090:

Dum-te-dum-dum-te-dum :105:  :024: :101:

Gotta text someone - ANYONE - NOW!!! stevmk2

Ah - feel for you Steve - waiting is the worst !

Hope the op is over and your wife is doing well. Hubby has had both hips replaced a few years ago, he is fine. He had a epidural and sedation and I was able to speak to him in the recovery room when I phoned. Best wishes to both of you.
