Greenhouse gone, new wall to the left as the greenhouse was that wall, luckily the soil stayed up until he built it. It has made the pond slightly larger too. Cleaned out, new liner as it leaked like a sieve, it doesn’t now. The water lily is the original one.& it bloomed this year.
He/she ate the fish as well. Though by then the ones left were geriatrics & probably gave him acute indigestion. They had to be at least 20 years old & were pretty sick looking too.
I envy you having such a wonderful back yard! Here in the states, we would never have a pond like this. Swimming pool, yes, but a lovely pond? I only wish…
Thanks to both of you.
RS greenhouse had to go, it was derelict, the glass was broken, the shelving inside rotting & I don’t grow stuff. Also it had to be removed so the pond could be mended. Shame I know, but late OH was the gardener not me & I didn’t use it.
Lovely, Tiff! It looks like a very inviting spot for wildlife and I am sure you will enjoy it. That is a handsome looking heron, too.
Are you restocking your fish? My parents’ started theirs with just a few koi, and it’s remarkable that despite minimal care and incredibly frigid temperatures, they are still doing well. Life definitely finds a way!
That’s a nice pond, Surfermom.
No not getting fish again as I don’t want netting over the pond & that is the only thing that stops the heron from eating them. It got the last fish because we had to remove it & it didn’t get put back quick enough.
I say the heron, but I think there are several around here.
