Yep Floydy I must admit Joan Baez is an aquired taste and like you I like her voice but her performances rate along side a dead duck. There just does not seem to be any party in her when she is up there on stage.(Well apart from Dylan that was.)
Take a look at this one with Paul Simon the guy walks on gives more warmth to see the guitarist than her even at the end turns his back on her like she does not exist. Definetely no love lost there and she is just glum all the way through it like " Why do I have to be here with this guy".?
I guess its just old age now creeping up on a once revolutionist.
Ha! Yes, she’s not the most charismatic performer is she? Then again, Paul Simon has had more than a few moments of grumpiness of his own in the past. Both great at what they do though - writing songs.
It’s been a while, Longfellow. Any tunes coming up bud?
Hi bud.
For some reason the IT boffins at work have blocked YouTube videos from being seen on their PCs, so I’m itching to see what those three songs are of yours above. I’ll catch up with them later today I guess!
The Kills…are they you’re band of choice at the moment, Longfellow. Like their stuff quite a lot actually
Yesterday seemed like a good Kill day to be honest Floyd, I went straight back to bed after posting them.
Today not so bad just looking about for some music to kick start my weekend.
Great PSB debut but I went off them after a while. I couldn’t imagine watching them live either. Be about as interesting as Kraftwerk!
Never into Duran Duran unfortunately, but I like that song.
(Be about as interesting as Kraftwerk!)
I have often wondered who the hell went to their concerts.
Kraftwerk the group that made even Pinky n Perkys music sound exciting.
I see you have a remarks on The Beatles thread going.
For me The Stones and The Bee Gees are the only ones that can touch them consistantly making great music
But to be honest it is 3 different styles of music so I would say each was at the top of their own fields.
Across The Universe was a great movie for Beatles music.
100% agree with you about the Bee Gees & The Stones bud I’ll add The Beach Boys too if I may.
Really enjoy your thread by the way. Wish I’d been there from the start to be honest!
Thanks Floyd.
Just been looking in your your Albums thread was so tempted to post these 3 but decided not to spoil your selections.
Oh mate, these are great to watch. I haven’t seen them before (apart from Don’t Look Down), only heard them on CD.
You could have posted them in my thread too if you you wanted as they’re relevant to a particular album. Up to you, you’re quite welcome
Nice stuff bud
Which concert is the Harrison/Clapton track taken from? It must be one of George’s final live appearances.
Not quite sure what the meet up was about but I think it may have been because George had been ill for sometime before so he may well have called them all together as a farewell.
Checkout the guy on the tamborine…
Great collection of musicians.
