My friend and I will be travelling to Fremantle today

One drawback.
All parking in Fremantle is via paid parking meters.
When was the last time I paid for parking?
Maybe two years ago.
Where did this paid parking venture come from?
The US of A, where else?
Oklahoma City installed 175 Park-O-Meters on July 15th 1935. (5 cents an hour)
Australia got it’s first parking meter 20 years later when the capital of Tasmania - Hobart - installed the meters.
(10 cents an hour)
Parking meters are a very lucrative cash cow.
In 2022 Perth City proper received $70 million in parking fees.
Parking fees in Fremantle today will be $2.70 an hour.

You should have gone to the Gold Coast.

Paying to park your car is unAustralian.

To be Avoided at all Costs!!!

It is, but sometimes unavoidable. I last paid for parking at least 2 years ago. :slightly_smiling_face:

If I was travelling alone I would have parked in the free zone.
Having my friend with me, who has had three hip replacements and can not walk very far without pain interjecting I needed to drive us there and park across the road from our destination.
