Looking for help. I was given a pair of earbuds with my new Samsung phone so I gave them to Mrs d00d. I played an old song on Youtube and she says it sounds fantastic! Now she wants some music (golden oldies) downloaded to her phone.
Just thinking of a way to do this … I guess I could first download to PC then transfer to phone via cable.
What do you say? And I’ve got a number of questions like where do are they stored on the phone (Android). Thanks

I can try to explain what works for me, speaking as someone who listens to a lot of music on my android phone - especially when shopping with the wife!
I originally had an Ipod years ago, but moved over to a phone as they became obsolete. I use a program called MyMp3Pro, which is a really old program I run on my old dilapidated laptop (Still runs on WinXP) which converts CD’s into mp3 tracks. I copy them to my main PC where I use another program called WinAmp (recently updated for Win10) which lets me edit track names & numbers, Album titles, Artists and all sorts of other stuff. Save the album files into a directory. Plug in phone to PC and copy files to a directory called Music (If its not there, create one) Incidentally, I also copy everything to a USB stick, which will play in my car, so I can have tons of music to listen to on the move.
I run an app called Musicolet, which is a freebie app (There are others, but this works for me), although it does have a few minor quirks, it does work quite well. You can make up favourites and playlists etc… It also runs when I connect my phone to my car.
I have had the need to take the soundtrack from a YouTube vid, run it through an online converter which takes mp4 to mp3, edit it a bit and stick it on my phone/car USB stick. Not sure what format Spotify music comes in, but if it plays on my PC, I could capture the sound with a prog which comes with Windows.

Get her a subscription to Spotify, I would not be without it, it’s cheap enough. Even better it soon learns what you like.
The great thing about phones is that they have Bluetooth so you can send the sound, not just to ear buds but to a soundbar, headphones or those tiny speaker things (eg JBL Flip 4) the sound quality, even for someone aurally challenged as me, is amazing.
My only coplaint about Spotify is the damn “remastered” LPs, I want the original not someone’s attempt to make the perfect better.
To be honest I am on my daughter’s family Spotify subscription so it costs me nothing - ask among your children or grandchildren and get it free.
BTW Amazon Prime has a similar thing - I keep getting messages from them telling me that I am not using it and I should be.

@Bruce cheers. I’ve got a son in NSW who uses Spotify. He uses Netflix too but I’ve recently been told he can’t include family members in a different country! Hmmmm
The above video is a waste of everyones time.
What else have I learnt? Right firstly, what’s required is a Music Player, obvious to some but not me. One that works offline, one without ads. So that narrows it down. And a popular one is Musicolet. Now we need music files. YouTube music videos tend to be MP4, and we need a different format for playing on the phone offline, MP3.
