Multiple people checking their phone when same ringtone sounds

Taking a rare train ride a phone rang with the same ringtone as mine.
I watched 3 other people check their phone, one answered. I never checked mine as I rarely get calls.

I’ve got a croaking frog.So I’d have no doubt it would be for me.Alas,no one rings me up ,when I’m with others anyway.

Mine sounds like the old fashioned phone ring tone, so at least I know it is the phone. I don’t think many people use that sound either so I know it is my phone.

Its the UK/Aussie ring not the US one.

Happens to me all the time, as I have the default ringtone which came with it. Whenever there is a crowd of people, i.e. a café, and one phone rings - or gets a notification - nearly everyone will check to see if it’s them.

When I hear it I’m reasonably sure that it is in fact my phone and conversely I don’t see others frantically fumbling to check their own phones.

I have my phone on mute. I wish everyone had the same ‘ringtone’ as me. /s
