RS, I watch a lot of youtube “bricky” videos and have to say, the “Pointing” in the first photo looks a bit amateurish.
Whilst I understand why you decided to replace the porch roof, it will still be missing a cavity tray.
A cavity tray is a damp-proofing component placed above junctions, such as roof abutments, window openings, and horizontal interruptions in the masonry. Its job is to prevent moisture that enters the outer leaf of a cavity wall from affecting the inner leaf. The tray slopes outward and features stop ends and weep holes which ensure water is collected and removed before it causes damage.
Wot you on about?
The contractors I have employed to do the job are a reputable local roofing company so they know what is needed.
This has absolutely nothing to do with cavity walls.
The porch against the outside house wall
another Mr Bodgetr job
That pipe comming out of the wall was not connected to anything… Maybe have been left to meet some previous build regulation. The roofers just pulled it out.
found yet another one. this time the downstairs toilet.
we have been having problems with flushing it so called in a plumber. Loads of issues. First getting to it ( photos below with the top shelf .removed)
with that out of the way reveals HIDDEN stop taps behind enclosed false wall
so now not only replacing the whole unit but also freeing up those hot/cold stop taps. Only hope is the front panel doesn’t have to be removed as well. those stop taps are seized
wh on earth hides water stop taps behind a false wall? Mr Bodget when he converted the room frm a shower area for the old lady who lived heri
