Me too.I bought a bike ,Benelli 250,much later in the 80’s and was forever trying to brake instead of changing gear. That 250, made by Moto Guzzi ,was just as quick as my old 650 Bonneville.:slight_smile:

So are you.:heart:

Gosh!Does anyone else think it’s getting a bit hot in here?

Nah Bratti! You’re my superhero! Showing women how it’s done!
Route 66 and that Harley are still on my bucket list

:hugs:

First I need to learn how to ride one though

Don’t you mean andlebars gum bud??

Donkeyman! :thinking::thinking: @gumbud

Yeah, probably cos of the ohc’s and 4Valves per cylinder Smiffy eh?
The brit bikes were a bit behind the times after the war?
But pre war we had plenty of overhead camshaft machines like Manx Norton’s and Excelsior manxmen
and AJS also had an R series in both 350 and 500cc form??
Rudge also developed what was l believe the only 4valve single cylinder 500cc bike made in UK
named the Rudge Ulster! But it was a push rod engine and not ohc !!
This was possibly the forerunner of the Gilera and guzzi machines that were then copied by the
Japanese !!

I can’t think of any bike related comedy except for the George Formby film.

I read a short synopsis of his career a while back - he seems to have been dominated by his wife who wanted as much money as she could get for spending - yes an unhappy domestic scene and i think there was extra- marital motor bike work but he remained faithful to his wife until he or she died - often the case heh - we cherish them and envy them and don’t know the truth

Malc, next door had a brand new Yammy FS1E, worked on the building sites, his brother got him a job as a supposed apprentice, when he got home circa 3.45pm, his Mom had his tea ready for him, on the arm of a substantial chair, strategically positioned in front of the TV. Malc could not wait to get married, and replace his Mom, never bothered to find out what happened to Malc.
