oh NO we are NOT !!! ![]()
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? ![]()
No escape from reality!!
Yes, I have been in Georgia a number of times and several other states in the USA. Actually I travelled extensively - South Africa, Taiwan, Canada, Malasia etc. Mostly on business.
If you do travel to England there are are lots to places to visit. Most visitors do London with the palaces, museums, historical buildings, parks and so on. Stonehenge is a visit and then is Bath with Roman Baths. Or you can visit Scotland instead - it is beautiful. Our friends from Georgia had a visit to Edinburgh a few weeks ago they loved it. So did I - I knew it well. It’s where I got my education at Napier University. The Napier was John Napier, (approx. 1600) named for his logarithms, a branch of mathematics. Enough - for now!
Sounds wonderful. Thanks so much for the feedback! ![]()
I took up bowls after retiring so certainly know more people in the real world, friends not so sure though, friendly yes.

Ah, you’re welcome! We live in Yorkshire now. That’s the county. York, the city is beautiful.
"York is a cathedral city in North Yorkshire, England, with Roman origins, sited at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. It has many historic buildings and other structures, including the minster, castle and city walls, all of which are Grade I listed. "
Where we live is along one of the Roman roads and we walk there mostly every day with our wee dog, It’s dead straight.
There must be so many interesting places to visit in York. What kind of restaurants are there?
Loads here ! We have one that is walking distance from us. In the summer we sit outside so we can bring the dog with us.
That’s lovely. I was looking up York on Google, I want to travel there someday! A restaurant at walking distance… doesn’t get any better than that!
I boldly and idealistically went off all social media/online outlets years ago. Decided I only wanted real and direct friendships
Hmmmm at this time in life that’s not easy to find…so, now I’m finding myself a bit isolated! ![]()
Hello Pax … welcome to the forum ![]()
We’re a friendly lot here.
Today we had a different restaurant today called the Marr Teashop. That was excellent but not only that they have a farm attached. Much their food is real home made directly from the farm including their wines and spirits. It was a special day for us - my niece was over from Canada.
Hello and welcome Pax ![]()

A very warm welcome to the forum Pax, you should have come to us first.
I’m sure you would have found friends that are sensible and caring.
I’m retired now and real live friends are a bit thin on the ground but I like to think I’ve got quite a few on the forum…Even the ones I don’t always agree with.
