Good grief! That’s phenomenal, Mart, how long did that take?! Its very very good!

Does Mrs. mart work from pre-existing patterns, or can she create her own from an image she might want to reproduce?

Fantastic work Mart  Mrs mart must have such a lot of patience…

Very often pre-existing patterns (like the one shown is) but makes up her own designs sometimes. Not pictures though, more jewellery items.

Hard to say how long it took in hours or days because it wasn’t worked on continuously but I know it has been sitting around in various stages of completion for quite a time.

Wow! That is impressive. An amazing picture.

Oh my goodness - that is incredible! I love Mucha and the Art Nouveau movement. Mrs Mart must have the patience of a saint to produce such a lovely piece of beading!:-D:-D

Patience and a lot of time.

Maybe worth saying is that the picture isn’t sewn onto a material backing but is just the beads woven together.

No patterns for these but ideas formed from experience and from watching on YouTube what can be made with beads.

This one is made to look like Wisteria. I think it does.

Awesome!
Such skill and an immense amount of patience!

Wonderful work Mrs Mart, I”m very impressed….

Excellent - Alphonse Mucha painting?

wow, just WOW

Such beautiful creations - well done Mrs Mart!

Great minds, Judd, see post 8.:-D:-D

Mrs mart says thanks. It is a picture of a Mucha artwork. It is the painstaking part of weaving the beads perfectly together that she likes to do (31,666 in this case), rather than create pictures.

She is such a perfectionist in this. Mistakes can get made in such a large project and I have seen her unpick hours of work because of noticing a bead out of place some rows back.

She is going to do another Mucha picture soon.

I was a great fan of Mucha back in my technical college days - I had a few posters in my bedroom, must notably, Princess Hyacinta as I liked his style of painting.

We had similar posters around the house in the 1970s. They were quite popular in those days. The posters are gone but we still have a number of picture mirrors that are of the style. I still buy them if I see them at car boot sales.

These are amazing !
