How beautiful but also a bit spooky looking.

I saw the full moon this evening when I went to Morrisons. I wished I had a camera… Love this photo though :+1:

Thank you. A little better:

Great photo @Besoeker, when you look at it like that it’s hard to imagine we have had men walking on the Moon…

Does anyone know if this was supermoon? It was amazingly bright. like a sportsfield spotlight.

“The first full moon of 2022 is the Wolf Moon, which will grace our skies at 11.48pm tonight.”
I didn’t know that.

Just been outside to look.
'Tis huge! :crescent_moon:

Why is tonight’s full moon called a wolf moon?

The January full moon is referred to as the “Wolf Moon,” because traditionally, wolves can be heard howling at the moon more this time of year. Some say wolves howl at the moon more during the cold winter months as a result of hunger, due to food being in short supply.

It’s going to be beautiful! I am heading outside shortly.

I am more inclined to think they howl to attract a mate, and scare off other males, because it’s the breeding season. :slightly_smiling_face:
Same as foxes and even a lot of domestic dogs. It’s that time of year if they want to produce spring born babies when the sun is warmer and food is more plentiful.

more like foxes howling here. Should be a vulpine moon!

I saw that full moon on my way to work on Monday. I was in awe of that low down moon . That moon made my day reminding me of the marvellous universe we are so privileged to live in.

RS I have been told you can do much of everything with a simple camera, just need to know how to make it do those things. perhaps you know how to get rid of a shadow spot on one of these cameras?

AnnieS
Most of the tricks are being able to hold a camera steady as I did in that shot. use whatever is around to aid in keeping the camera steady ,any support is better than none. Don’t just take one shot take a few in quick succession and pick the best photo.
I don’t quite understand what you mean by a “shadow spot” on one of the cameras, can you give an example on what camera
