Money does grow on (in) trees

CSIRO discovered that eucalyptus trees in the Kalgoorlie region of Western Australia draw up gold particles from the earth via their root system and depositing it in their leaves and branches.
Searching for gold-bearing gum leaves is providing a cost-effective and more environmentally-friendly approach to pinpointing gold deposits beneath the surface.

I gather that there is gold to be found in Australia and some people take it quite seriously.

Australia has the largest reserves of gold in the world.
16% of the known gold still in the ground is to be found in Australia.
Russia has 13% and South Africa has 9.6%.
