Mollie's Makeovers

Janela, I love bright bold colours. I always have, and I just go for it if it’s something I like.

Mlee, it isn’t red in my hallway, but more of a deep orangy salmon. The bottom half of the walls is actually plaster, done in a bark style. My darling partner was a master plasterer and he did all of that by hand for me. I’ll find a close-up of it to show you.

Yes, I love wind-chimes and Indian dream-catchers as well. I have a wooden wind-chime hanging at my kitchen window, and I’ve a chime in the bathroom, my bedroom, and two in the living room.

Here’s a close-up of the bark effect wall. This was taken a few years ago and that lamp is now in my upstairs sitting room. Had a new phone as well since then.

It is super beautiful. I love all colors that are pretty. Your honey was also talented.

I’ve watched all the programs on crafts for the home and do not remember the “Bark Effect.”
I love it. I love Salmon colored Lipstick, clothes, anything. It’s so calming for me. So is Purple (I think I love purple now because it’s the PROSPERITY magnet.) Lol.
I love money, though don’t have much of it. (giggles)

If you notice the hall ceiling, he did that as well by stippling the plaster. Yes, he was extremely talented in things of that nature.

Here are two plaques which also hang on another wall in my hallway. These were bought by mother circa 1968 and I’ve always loved them. They have a sort of 3D quality about them:

Yes I did notice. Well done.
The plaques look Victorian. They’re beautiful.

I also notice you have doilies. I have made so many of them. Still have a lot left. Can not crochet or knit anymore with these hands.

Funny how It is hard for me to even use a pen, but I can sure type away with out cramping up. (giggles).

I really must have my eyes tested. I thought I read that I have “dollies.” I do have a few doylies, but I didn’t make them.

I’ll show you my living room next, but that will be tomorrow night now.

Thanks for looking.

My you do like strong colours .I always go for much more muted shades .Each to their own as they say .

Yes, they are strong aren’t they. It’s because I’m a fire sign that loves very bright colours.

However, my living room, which I’ll put on tomorrow night, is most definitely the opposite and quite bland in comparison.

Mollie, I guess Doilies are spelt either way.

http://www.joann.com/crafts/basic-craft-supplies/doilies/

A lot of words have different spellings but mean the same.
I have run across that living in different states. Sorry if I confused you.

Not a problem lass. It was my eyes, not your spelling!

We say colour, you say color. We say favourite, you say favorite!

Thanks for showing your colour schemes Mollie  Your hallway is more or less the same colours I had in my previous house - such a warming colour  Also loving your wind chimes. I’ve only ever had one, it was nothing special and I left it behind, but I think I may have to buy another now

I love wind-chimes lass, and they certainly have a calming effect on me. That’s why I have them in almost all of my rooms.

I hate wishy-washy colours!

OH MOLLIE!
That is so wonderful! Honestly! You made me feel so good.

I know most of you live in my Mother Land, and I wanted to know the words the way they were meant to be.

America (not putting her down now) but we have really messed up the English language badly. Even the schools here tell us to speak the way we speak.

I love watching movies with English actors. Their speech is so beautiful. It gets me in the solar plexus. As if I could touch their voice.

Here. . . depends in which state you live in. . . “ya gotta pronounce words the way they do or they’ll tell ya somethin’.”
LOL
I’ve lived in so many states here that when I get to talking, I forget how I’m supposed to pronounce a word. . . Let me see now, how do they pronounce it here? Ha, ha. It was hard on me.
I had gotten such a complex. Especially hard when you’re young and are meeting new friends.

I tell my family that we do not speak English. We speak American.
They just don’t understand now do they. Hope one day they will.

I was just at Family Search and re-registered for volunteer indexing for them. I had completed thousands for them and wanted to know if I could still keep my count.
Went to my email for my confirmation and seen your message.
I had a happy and excited laugh indeed.

Seperated by a common language lass. What you don’t realise though is that we in England are also separated by dialects, some of which are hard to understand even by us sometimes. You’d have to experience it though to understand it. For example, I am from Wigan in Lancashire, and we speak with a dialect which can be hard to interpret by others, e.g.

I reckon yer a reet gradely lass bur’a don’t think ya’d understand worram goin’ on about!:mrgreen:

You woudn’t understand my stories about Crusty in this section of the board, because they’re written in Lancashire dialect, but we digress now from this topic!

I read one on Crusty!
It was a little hard at first. . . but I got the hang of it. I find myself thinking of him as I do things around the house and how she got even with him in the cafe.
She’s as obstinate as I am. I find ways to get even! LOL.
I’m not really all that bad, but I would have just about done what she did to him.

Mollie. . . I find delight in you.

Mez gotta get back to work now. After I check more stuff around here.
I did reinlist in the Family Search, last night. Was up til 1 in the morning. 9 your time.
I used to be one of the arbitrators but now I have to start all over again.

Oh. . . I will eventually learn your dialect. I’ll stump people around here.

Thanks, Emily.

Will put some living room pictures on soon.

Im not keen on the hall colour but I totally agree it looks extremely nice and very well done.
I’m itching to get painting in our dining room as its looking a little tired. It has 3 doors one of which is the patio doors the other lead to the hall & the other is the kitchen. we have the table & chairs in there plus the dog crate and none of which can move anywhere else! All I need to do is paint and freshen it up. Am stuck with my nose in the Dulux colour book now lol

It is a very strong colour Cassie, I must admit. I used to love painting and decorating and it drives me bonkers because I can’t manage to do any now.

You won’t need any sun glasses for my living room though.

Very nice Mollie, those colours are more my cup of tea  I was more into bold colours a while back but not any more, I am more into neutral colours these days especially cream
