Sad news for all Monkees fans - it’s just been announced that Mike Nesmith, the beanie hatted guitarist for the group, has died. He was 78 and died of heart failure.

Not exactly a Monkees fan, they’ve been around probably all my adult life so I remember the group well.

Sad news indeed, I think the monkees were americas answer to the Beatles, as I understand, they couldn’t play any instruments, but learnt how to, and became very talented musicians
