Meghan Markle again

why is it bullying for us to say what we see…liars and attention seekers is what I see so why can’t we air our views without being accused of bullying? Just because someone might not like what we are saying about someone doesn’t amount to bullying, we for now still have some kind of freedom of speech to say it as we see it from our perspective. They keep saying they don’t want to be in the public eye yet CONSTANTLY put themselves there. I wish they would just ‘fack orf’

if I were William I’d be very annoyed at that comment.

You can of course say exactly what you want, just the same as I can. But the fact is that neither you or I know what actually has been going on.

If you agree with a drone taking pictures of the inside of their bedroom and plastering it all over the papers then so be it.

If you agree with somebody with a long lens taking photos of Kate sunbathing topless in the privacy of her own apartment then so bit.

If that sort of thing floats your boat and your happy to go along with it, so be it, we’re all different.

I just chose not to be any part of it.

But no one HAS been sending a drone to the inside of their bedroom !
That is a totally different scenario
THEY have been telling everyone on TV that is their choice .
No one is making it up they are speaking themselves .

I never said I agree with that kind of stuff or that it floats my boat. What doesn’t float my boat is to see them constantly in the public eye when they made it quite clear they no longer wanted to be in the public eye

A drone was sent to take a photo of their bedroom. And got no idea what the rest of your post is going on about. As I’ve previously stated you haven’t lived Harry’s life only he has.

Yeah it gets on my nerves too, why don’t the media leave them alone.

I scroll through the papers most nights and the dross I have to scroll through until I get to something interesting is unbelievable and can’t believe the hypocrisy of the press when they say similar to what you’re saying, when it’s them themselves who are making up the stories about them and printing it. As if there isn’t more interesting things going on in this world to report on.

I listen to what he SAYS and DOES.
He speaks a lot of foolishness and is hypocritical in what he does .
It’s as simple as that .

Still looks the best of a VERY bad bunch.

I don’t think Meghan and Harry ever actually said they did not want to be in the public eye - that is a misconception that is often put forward but I have never seen him actually say that.
(I could be wrong about that, because I don’t read the gossip columns or hang on his every word)

I thought Harry said they decided to step back from Royal duties because they couldn’t cope with the level of press intrusion, so they decided they would prefer to work outside the Royal Family set-up and use their “public exposure” to work for the causes they choose but also take more control over what they share in the public domain and have a right of reply to some of the dross that appears in the gossip columns about them.

Harry has said he felt constrained by the Royal Family protocols (and I expect Meghan did too) and said he was frustrated that he could not answer the gossips or complain about press intrusion due to the Royal Family “never complain, never explain” policy.

I guess now they have removed themselves from Royal Duties, they can choose what public appearances they make, like any other “celebrity” who has built up a public following - and people who are sick of hearing about them can do what I do when people I’m not interested in are in the news - I just don’t pay attention. It’s no skin off my nose if a celebrity I’m not interested in is having a bit of media attention and no skin off their nose if I’m not interested.

Royal DUTIES? Just what the hell are such things! The whole rotten lot do whatever they want when they want, get waited on hand and foot, and live the life of Riley. They are totally parasites.

I used the term “Royal Duties” just as a shorthand term for the variety of functions that members of the Royal Family attend as the Queen’s Representative.

I thought it was a commonly used phrase, which includes all sorts of functions, both social, military and diplomatic, such as “meet and greet” chat, giving speeches, cutting ribbons, planting trees etc etc etc.

It’s hard not to take any notice when the are in the news almost every day lol. I’d prefer to see some real news instead of hearing about a couple of attention seekers. They said the were stepping back because they wanted privacy…then go on thr most high profile chat show on television and puts his own family down. The media had a field day

Because they don’t want the media to leave them alone they’re a pair of publicity seekers.

If I thought someone was deliberately seeking attention and I wanted them to stop, the last thing I would do is take notice of them or comment publicly on their attention-seeking behaviour.
If I wanted the media to stop reporting the attention-seeking behaviour, I’d stop clicking on headlines about them or switch the TV off when they came on.
I’m a firm believer in the old mantra
“Behaviour that is rewarded is repeated”

I know fine well what the phrase means but I totally reject the implications that what they do describe duties in any normal job or if what the whole bunch of scroungers have ANY real value at all.

Good question. I have always thought that we benefit from having a monarchy, though more recently I have had to moderate my views.
The Queen is, I think, above reproach, but as for the rest I have less regard. As for these two traitors, I have no words condemning enough and hope never to see them in this country again.

LQ, I have to say that your language is deteriorating noticeably! :open_mouth:

Au contraire! Much easier for me to understand!

sorry, I’m getting crosser as I age with all the sillyness that is happening My Mother would slap me if she could hear me God rest her soul…come to think of it Dad would too!
