Been watching the masters at Alexandria Palace this week and
I was struck by how many flys there were dropping onto
the playing surface both at night time and daytime ??
It is even delaying play sometimes !!
Is there a rubbish tip anywhere near the crystal palace?
Or is there a plague of flies in London this year?
Or maybe it’s the sewage in the river Thames ?

Another thing l noticed at Ally Palli is that hardly any one wears
a mask whilst watching ??
On checking the covid rules regarding the covid rules controlling
spectating at indoor events l found that the rules say that
spectators must wear masks up to the point of entry to the
venue ??
Nothing is said about what should be done whilst actually
inside the venue ??
Therefore l understand that to mean you can do as you wish
after admission ??
Doesn’t this seem to be counterproductive ?
Surely it should be the other way round shouldn’t it ??
