Many of the Reddit subreddits are going dark today, June 12th for at least 48 hours in protest of Reddit charging 3rd party apps on the site. People say the fees are exorbitant and will drive some APIs out of business.
Some of the moderators of the subreddits say that 3rd party apps are what they use to help mod their community. Without them, the subs would be too much work to mod.
Many of my favorite subreddits are participating.
