It’s the 50th anniversary of M.A.S.H.
I loved that show and especially these two - Hawkeye & BJ.
Wouldn’t have recognised them now but for the headlines…
Anymore M.A.S.H. fans out there?

Actually I was in love with Hawkeye.
I enjoyed MASH even though I wasn’t a regular viewer. I was amused by the fact that it went on longer than the actual war.
I used to fancy Alan Alda when I was a little kid just because the character he played was so irreverent but yet compassionate & soulful. It was one of my favourite programmes as a child. He was old enough to be my dad of course. But such is the magic of Hollywood.
I just loved the theme tune. I don’t know what it was about it but it was so emotive. In the 70s they really knew how to make a good tune. The lyrics to the MASH tune were reportedly written by the 15 year old son of the director of the original MASH movie.
Looks like Henry Cooper !
I liked the early Mashes, got the war is bad message over with zaniness. The later ones got too preachy.
It is probably true that MASH had it’s origins in the novel Catch 22
A great read too …
I have never finished reading that
When I was young it was my go to book, if I wasn’t reading a new book I would re-read it. I couldn’t say how many times I have read it but it would number a dozen or more.
I must try to find it. I just remember Major Major.
yes loved them all to bits and the changes of characters - there also was a more serious series maybe called china beach which was interesting but didn’t have any relaxing humor ?
Yes, always enjoyed watching it.
One of my favorite shows growing up. I had a boyfriend who was addicted to the show.
I liked M.A.S.H as well. Think I watched all the episodes at the time.
