Long finger nails yuk

I have always thought long finger nails were unhealthy .
It brings to mind horrible imagery.

I like mine just long enough to be properly manicured. The ones in that photo are hideous!

They are probably acrylics…nothing much will live in them

You can’t be gardener and have long finger nails…I like to see nicely manicured nails though.

I don’t know why long nails make me feel a bit sick? I even wonder how women work with those long pointy things.

I do lots in my garden, so long finger nails wouldn’t last long there! I only use nail varnish if l’m going out somewhere special.

I once worked with a woman and she always kept the nails on her last little fingers long. She said, they were good for getting the wax out of her ears!! :face_vomiting:

I have very strong natural nails and I do like to grow and manicure them to an attractive length , I think it makes my hands look nicer , but those ugly things arnt attractive at all . When I worked in an office I couldn’t type properly when my nails grew too long so I kept them shorter . Attractive hands are nice but these look silly

Those long nails you see are not real surely? Just glued on …

Yes dood they are false and glued on . Often when women wear these false nails continuously their own nails become soft and very damaged

I don’t like hugely long false nails either.
Those women must only sit and preen all day, as I don’t see how they could get anything else done with nails like that hampering every move.

It may sound a bit rude, but I’ve just had another thought too . . . . how on earth do they wipe their bum?

I think extremely long fingernails look grotesque - they make me feel a bit queasy, so I try not to look at them.

I don’t like looking at fingernails which are cut straight across either - it seems to be a modern trend for false nails to be cut straight, instead of following the natural curved contour of the finger end. I think it looks quite ugly and unnatural.

My preference is for natural nails, manicured in a natural curved shape but not too long.
I like to give under my nails a good scrub with soap and a nail brush when I wash my hands, especially after tackling messy jobs and always before handling food, so I keep mine short enough for the bristles of a nail brush to reach right down to where the nails meet the finger ends.

The first thing that comes to mind :frowning:

My daughter’s nails simply don’t grow without splitting vertically, and she then has to cut them so short they are actually painful. So for some time she’s been having gel nails applied, which prevents the nails from splitting. She’s now teaching herself to do her nails to save the expense of regular trips to the salon. She always does them short, though, because she can’t function with those claw like talons!
She did them yesterday - took her hours but she’s pleased with the result!

Thank you - she bought the colours intending to do them for Easter, because the little kit came with a ‘speckle’ top coat so they’d look like Cadbury’s mini eggs, haha. But in the end she didn’t have time to do them then, so just left off the speckles.

That’s nice, and nicely photographed.

Hi

I think they are gorgeous and very classy.

I really do not like the huge fake ones.

Apart from my thumbs, all my finger nails are short and trimmed.

Instructions from my Grandmother, who was a legend.

Keep your finger nails short and trimmed, ladies do not enjoy being scratched down below.

If you are slow, gentle and considerate, they will come back for more.

If you scratch them, you can forget it.
