I don’t think we should expect that true justice will be meted out by the other inmates .
But part of me hopes they do.

Sadly Muddy, these failings are down to the real parent. I wouldn’t allow a new partner to live at my house unless I was certain that they cared for my cats as much as I did.
If they didn’t I would rather not have a partner !
Social services should be able to take these children into short term care where they can feel safe and talk about what had happened to them, but even that wouldn’t save the babies! 
I believe that any parent, who doesn’t put their child’s needs first , is unfit to be a parent and should be sterilized.
When will the law realize that these children have died because the people who should care for them are liars . The more we hear these cases of child murder the less shocking they become &, just like people being stabbed, they will just become another sad story in the news! 
I agree Twink they are unfit . Have you noticed that usually the biological parent is lacking in some way? Stars mother was mentally challenged ( IQ of 70 )Baby Peters mother was somewhat similar ( despite breeding seven children ) children who would have been better reared by a dog than her .
Arthur’s father was another brain dead moron .
These parents should IMO all be sterilised so they never bring another child into this world they are not normal the most primitive of animals protects it’s young these are deviants .

It is a sad fact that having children often means that people are more likely to get a home from social housing.
I decided not to have children & believe me it isn’t difficult to avoid getting pregnant of you have a brain!
I don’t believe in any religion, but I am starting to understand why Christian churches expected marriage to come before having a baby… but in those days divorce wasn’t expected to become so popular.
I hate the world we live in because too many people want the happy lives that others have , but don’t understand the financial & emotional cost that others had to go through to get that happy life.
Lots of people had pets that they got rid of when they became bored with them, what a tragedy that the same feelings now can end a child’s life!

I agree with all of the above criticisms of parents who should never be allowed to have children.
Perhaps the law should be tightened up and as soon as there is any evidence of mistreatment of children, the social workers should be put in charge with the right to visit (with police support if necessary) at any time to check up on the home situation.
Then, if there are any serious mistreatments of children, those children should be taken away from their natural parents and offered to more caring people who desperately want children but cannot have them. No arguments.
However, therein lies a further problem which hasn’t been mentioned in this thread, at least not for a time as far as I can see.
Social workers seem naturally to be of the ‘do-gooder’ type and will probably look for reasons to make excuses for poor parents. We are also no doubt short of social workers and certainly short of police, who seem to spend more of their time on such things as ‘name calling on Twitter’!
